Is he flirty or just friendly?


 
What’s the difference between being friendly, joking around and flirting? I can’t seem to tell the difference.
 
Bill: Being friendly is showing politeness: “Hi, how are you?” Joking is trying to make someone laugh: “Hey, what’s with the hair?” And flirting is trying to get someone to notice you: “Hey, do you like this dress on me? Really? You’re just saying that....” Being friendly might result in a casual conversation. Flirting might result in a date.  And joking might result in a conversation, date or breakup. Class dismissed.
 
Dave: The difference is... There isn’t one. That’s what makes flirting so wonderful. You never quite know where you stand. Life would be boring without that tinge of doubt—was that a sly wink or just fluttering to get a lash out of the eye? Besides, if doubts about flirting didn’t exist, neither would Guy Q&A columnists. As for Bill’s hair comment, that’s not friendly, joking or flirting. Take it from a guy with goofy hair—that’ll get you nowhere.

OK so there's this dude whose a grade younger than me n my friend ..........he likes my friend A LOT and asked her out. She just had a break-up and she's not sure what to say. But he's being SUPER nice with her and even me. Always ask me to convince her. My friend is not sure if she likes him and another problem is that the guy is a grade younger and a little shorter than her...so shes super confused but those sweet looks he give her when they pass each other in the hallway r just too cute!! So need help on this..what should she say to him especially when shes confused about her feelings!!

 

Hey girl! There is no reason for your friend to rush into a relationship, especially if she just went through a break-up. Although he seems sweet and gives her cute looks, it doesn't mean that he is necessarily the right person for your friend. Try hanging out with him in a group setting so that your friend can get to know him better and have a chance to sort out her feelings. If she's confused, she definitely shouldn't start dating him right away. Tell her not to worry about the height thing--most guys hit puberty after girls, so it's likely that a lot of guys will be shorter at this point in your life.

OKAY, So I like this guy. He’s really nice to me and my friends. Tong Anyways today out of the blue he posted this on my wall (on Facebook) “go on twitter (:” I said ok. We talked for a few minutes on face book and twitter and I asked him wazzup? He responded oh nothing much playing mw2. I said oh cool! I then asked him if he was still playing. He replied no I stopped it. I asked why?!? He said cuz I want to talk to people like you (: My friends say “if a boy stops a video game for you marry him! xD” Does it seem like he likes me back?

So I met this guy a few months ago when I was on vacation and he gave me his number to keep in touch. It's kind of a coincidence that we ended up living in the same city. He's a year older than me and very cute, nice, etc. We've been texting and having our own little jokes and teasing each other. (I don't know if that's considered flirting?)But recently he hasn't been texting me, what's the deal?

Okay, so there's this guy I know who's my age, cute, sweet, and fun to hang out with. He texts me, made a point to sit by me in the computer lab, helped me with math, and makes me laugh. I think I might have a crush on him. The problem? A) I kinda have a boyfriend( we talk but don't really hang out after school and I'm just not feeling it) B) he has a girlfriend ( my BFF thinks she fake; looks like me, lives far away) and C) HE'S MY BEST FRIEND'S BROTHER!! I don't want to mess up our friendship but I enjoy hanging out with him, he's nice to me, and bought me chocolate. Please help!




Hey girl,

First off, if you're not happy with your BF (and uh, not even talking?), you should totally end that relationship. You're only sticking around in something bad because it's easier than talking to him about it, so be true to yourself and be honest with him. It's better to be single and happy! As for his GF, you can't do anything about that situation, so sit tight for now. Be patient and get to know him even better as friends for now. NO FLIRTING while he's off the market - would you want someone flirting with him if you were his GF? Probably not! So respect them both by staying friendly. Chat with your bestie and make sure she knows about your crush. You might need to let it sink in, but be honest with her and make sure she tells you if it bothers you. If you DID date, she'd obviously still be a major part of your life - so it's not worth ruining your friendship. But who knows, she could be super supportive! Smile
