Teen queen Miley Cyrus is plugging a new craze, the gluten
free diet. But it’s not because she’s looking to drop a few pounds. Over the
weekend, Miley tweeted that she is allergic to gluten (found in wheat, malt and
barley) and lactose.
And while we’re betting she misses some gluten-containing
meals (like a fast food cheeseburger—check out the pic below!), she’s been
pretty upbeat since ‘fessing up. Udi’s baked goods are a new staple in her
pantry, and she raves about the added bonuses of going gluten-free…
Are you interested in taking Miley's gluten-free challenge? CLICK HERE for more about the GF diet, and read on for a few tips to make it all week long:
- Focus on fiber to fill ya up instead of empty carbs found in bread products and processed munchies
- Diversify the grains you are eating. Think rice, corn and quinoa. Yum!
- When it comes to lunch, think beyond the sandwich. Salads are a tasty--and super healthy--option when topped with protein like grilled chicken or hard-boiled eggs.
- Cravings sweets? Look for recipes that naturally have little or no flour, and get baking. Brownies are an easy first step for GF bakers--just make sure to line your pan with parchment paper to prevent 'em from sticking!
Update: OK, girls, we took out the bad words
