How do you stop liking a guy that you know won’t like you back? I've tried everything!

It always sucks when your crush doesn’t like you back, but you shouldn’t waste anytime dwelling on that fact. The most important thing is to distract your mind and make yourself so busy that you literally don’t have time to think about him. Here’s how to move on without looking back.

Spend more time with your friends and family. Closing yourself off only makes it worse. Get out there and laugh with the ones who know you best.

Get back into an old hobby. No, we don’t mean stalking him on Facebook. Step away from social media for a sec and do activities that put a smile on your face.

Take your frustrations out through exercising. Pick yourself up and hit the gym or run around the block. A daily dose of endorphin-raising activities will kick your brokenhearted blues fast.

Look for someone new to crush on who is nicer and cuter. He’s out there somewhere. Even if you don’t find him right away, keeping your eyes open helps you lose focus of the old flame.

Focus on your schoolwork. Crushes only last so long. That gleaming sense of accomplishment from boosting your GPA outlasts any heartache.

Learn to cook or bake something new.  We know you’ve got oodles of recipes on your pinboards, and we’ve got tons here and here. Try ‘em out, sweetness!

Clear out the mess under your bed and in your closet. A clean start should start with a clean room. Any cutesy momentos that remind you of him? Toss ‘em fast and relish in an uncluttered mind.

Start reading a new book. Preferably one that doesn’t draw parallels between the dreamy hero (ahem, Twilight) and your former crush. Pick one that puts your mind as far away from him as possible.

Crank up the tunes and dance. Because life’s too short to be a wallflower at your own party – even if it’s just a personal dance party in your room.

It won’t be an instant cure, but the ache won’t last forever. Remember that he isn’t the only boy in world and you’re way better off finding a guy who’s just as crazy for you as you are for him.

MOD MOD MOD
me and this one guy fight all the time in one class and the teacher yells at us cause were talking how can we stop fighting?

Hey Chica,

I’m sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with this guy. I think the most important thing would be to talk to him. You should let him know that it’s not good for the both of you to be fighting especially if it is effecting your schooling. I think you should both determine what the problem is as to why you are fighting so much and come up with a solution. Be willing to compromise and apologize and hopefully he will do the same. After this, try to focus on your academics and stay away from him as much as possible. Good luck doll!

MODMODMOD
so i just got my crush's phone number and I've texted him a few times and he responds but its always with really short answers. like less than a sentence. What are some things i can ask or talk about to get a good conversation going? Thanks Smile xo

Hey Doll!

I think a great way to get him to respond to you and to really get him talking is to ask him questions that are not yes or no questions. Ask him how his day is going or how his day went. If you have anything in common with him, such as you have a class together, start talking about that and ask him a question about that class. Just try to make all your questions open ended, not yes or no questions. Guys like complements too, so maybe try complimenting him and asking a questions like: “I really like those tennis shoes you have, did you buy them for basketball season? If he replies with “No I just bought them because I like them” or something short like that you could say “Well I really like them! Where do you buy your shoes because…” Just keep the conversation going and try to ask as many open ended questions as you can while still being conversational. I hope this helps doll! Good luck!

MOD MOD MOD
Ok,so,apparently I am obsessed with my crush.I talk about him sometimes, and I looka t his pictures on Facebook and pick out my favorite ones. But,last night I talked about him for 3 hours and showed my friends pictures of him that I like. They are calling me obsessed, but I don't think I am.How do you know if you are obsessed with with your crush, and when it is just a regular crush that you talk about?

Hey Doll!

I definitely understand how you feel. When you have a crush on someone all you want to do is talk about them and think about them. I don’t think what you’re doing is obsessive, but try to think how your friends feel. How would you feel if your friend only talked about a boy for hours and hours, it’s completely different when their talking about somebody you don’t have strong feelings for. I know you really like him but try to keep your friends happy too. I think it only becomes obsessive when you let your crush get in the way of other important priorities such as school, family, and friends.

MOD MOD MOD!!! So T've been going out with this guy for two months. He's really sweet, but he's also really immature. He's a year younger than me. And the thing is, I just don't feel the butterflies when i'm around him anymore. I really don't want to break his heart, but if i don't like him, I don't see the point in going out with him. I think that when i'm older, i might regret dating so young (i'm thirteen). But i also think i might regret breaking up with him. I don't know what to do! Please help me! Smile thanks!

Hey coccinelle4, you can’t ignore your feelings. If you don’t like him anymore you can’t help that. And you’re right it’s better to be true to him and yourself then to lead him on. So let him know that you think it’s better if you guys are just friends. Hope this helps! Xoxo
