What does a guy expect from you if he asks you to “go out” with him? I’m only in eighth grade so, technically, I can’t actually “go” anywhere with a guy.

Bill: Guys don’t expect much. Just total worship, sports tickets, and validation of the egotistical belief that they’re funny and good-looking. I’m kidding! When a guy asks you to “go out” with him, he basically wants to share good (and bad) times with you. With the right person, that can be kind of cool. The truth is, you really don’t have to “go out” with someone to care a lot about him or her.

Dave: To some guys “going out” might mean an occasional call or text after school. To others, it means spending all your free time with each other. Figuring out what “going out” means is just one more issue in the long, long laundry list of things involved in sorting out the BF/GF thing. Find a guy who’s looking for the same thing as you…and you’ve got yourself a keeper.

Hi! So I like this guy, and he's like, the "weird kid". He's the guy tht everyone thinks is a freak. I've only gotten to know him well because Ive been sat near him alot in class, and he's real sweet and nice when you get to know him. We've been getting real close, but people are looking at me weird, because I'm a goody2shoes. Today he came to talk to me when I was talking to my bestie, and if I talked to him, my bestie would laugh-she thinks hes a little eccentric-, and if I didnt, I would offend him. I feel weird talking to him, because people are looking at me weird. Like "What do you see in him?". I really like him, and I think he might like me too, but what would people think if we started dating? My school's spring formal is coming up-what would I do then if we danced together? I have issues enjoying my time with him ebcause Im so afraid of what others will think. How can I get over this? Thanks so much!

Im crazy abt this guy, and one of my besties did a little volunteer detective work for me and asked:
"Who do you like in this class? Is it a red head? Sabrina, maybe?"
HIM: "No."
Friend: "MacKenzee?"
HIM: "No. but i do like a redhead in this class."
Friend: "WHO?! DANI? (thats ME!"
Him: Maybe.
So, its pretty much confirmed that he likes me, even though he hasn't technically said it. And i have his number now, so I can text him and find out more about him. I just want to know of possible ways to tell him i like him that aren't too gushy. any ideas?

I would start contact first (convos, texts, chatting online, etc.) and get to know each other even better as friends first. Don't come on too strong with a flat out, "I really like you." It's way easier to be honest, but it can freak guys out! Instead, ease into it - chat, flirt, compliment him, tease him, hang out in groups, and enjoy your chemistry. Over time, you can get closer and closer to telling him - and you'll know when the time is right to finally 'fess up! <3

MODMODMOD So a new guy friend asked me to hang out at this one shop his parents own. I'm super excited but I'm not quite sure what to do while we're there. We're just friends, so do you have any fun activity suggestions to keep things upbeat and non-awkward?

You could do homework, listen to music, go for a walk, help working at the shop, ask questions about each other, play cards, etc. Try to vary it up so you don't get bored but you also get to know each other better!

i have liked him for months!!
today.. i was going to social studies and he said "i love you " you me and tried to give me a hug. but i was totally in la la land and not listening, i didnt no he was talking to me! when my friend said he was trying to give me a hug, i freaked out. im afraid, that even if he did like me, i just turned him off. what do i do? should i tell him i like him? Because what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel. so should i ask my friend to ask him if he likes me? what do i do?

Today may have confused him, so tomorrow pay him more attention so that he sees it was just a one-time thing. Having your friend do it for you is never a good idea. I think you should just step up the flirting and start making some moves, then gauge how much he likes you based on his reactions.
