Yesterday, my BGF, who's also my crush, and I were going to the ice cream parlor near our houses. We rode our bikes, and halfway there my bike broke. My crush took my bike and carried it the quarter-mile back to my house, and then let me ride on his pegs for the rest of the trip. After getting ice-cream, we went to my house to play basketball. My crush and I were standing alone, and he took my hand and asked me out. Of course I said yes.

sooo i have a really big problem.. i really really really like this guy, he's amazing, every thing i want in a boyfriend: smart, athletic, treats me like a princess, very good looking, has goals, has a great personality, and is just a really good person. he really likes me too and wants to date.
the problem?!
my parents don't approve of him..im really not sure what to do, they haven't even met him..do you think i should have them meet? i feel like that would make things better just so they'll have a better perception of him? but if that doesn't go well then what? i mean i can't just like quit talking to him... :/

Hey girl, it sounds like a tough situation. Is it the guy that your parents don't like, or the idea of you dating? You've made the right decision so far--you definitely shouldn't go behind your parents' back and try to date him without them knowing. I would suggest asking your parents if you could invite a guy friend over for dinner one night. Explain that he is just friend and that you enjoy hanging out with him, so you want them to get to know him better. It may take some time for them to get used to the idea, but it's best to just be honest with them.


 

Give your parents a chance to get to know the guy--what his favorite classes are, what sports he plays, etc. If he is respectful, there's no reason for your parents to not like him. They may just be uncomfortable with the idea of you dating. If that's the case, then you should just remain friends with him and still talk to him. Remember that there is no rush to start dating--there will be a time and place for it!

Ugh, I wish the guy I liked would do something this sweet for me! His friends know I like him, but I don't think he does. Is it just me, or does it always seem like your crush's friends know you like him, but the guy himself is completely OBLIVIOUS?? It's just one fact of life that drives me insane!

Aww!!! I wish the guys I knew were half as sweet as yours!! I'll be lucky if I can even get my BGF who happens to be my crush to ask me out!! If he doesn't by next year I will!! Plus I'm pretty sure he likes me and he knows I like him!!! SOME GUYS ARE JUST SOOO CLUELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
