In the News: FDA will finally start monitoring beauty products



Not so sure what unpronounceable chemicals are lurking in that drugstore mascara that you swipe on each morning before school? Makeup companies have been known to include ingredients that could be potentially harmful to your skin and face, and we’re none the wiser. But hopefully, that’s all about to change, as the U.S. Food & Drug Administration will finally begin to add beauty products to its list of monitored food and medicines.

 

According to Emily Orofino from refinery29.com, Europe has banned over 1,200 substances from beauty products, while the U.S. has limited only a shocking 10. Once the FDA begins to employ restrictions on makeup, the quality of beauty products should greatly improve and be much better for your skin and overall health.

Are E.L.F. products safe?? my friend stopped using products because they are made in another country and when i use them (from other country)she say's im messing up my skin!!!! how can i prove to her some of the stuff she says is wrong???? -Thanks in Advance!

 

Hey girlie, as far as I know E.L.F. products are safe. If you have really sensitive skin, your skin might react badly to some of the products, but that could happen with any brand. If she's saying things you know aren't true, do your research. Find proof that she's wrong and show it to her. That'll teach her to do her own research before she talks next time.
