That’s what some education experts are hoping for in the not-too-distant future, the Washington Post reports. They’re calling it a “full day” of school—though why they think 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. isn’t long enough to be called a “full day,” we’re not entirely clear on. Anyway, the notion is that the extra two or three hours could help American students be competitive with students abroad. The time could be used for longer classes, tutoring and one-on-one time with teachers.
What do you think of this proposition, babes? Is it a step in the right direction or too much time in the classroom? And if they did add a few more hours to the school day, how should they be spent?

I agree with emroxlol on this one...I'd rather have year round school than put up with 10 hours of school a day! My mom works at a school that's considering teaching kids year-round, and even though there's no summer vacation, there's days off almost every month! The only good thing about longer days, though, is that kids would work harder and get a chance to have help with assignments without staying after school, not to mention that there would probably be less homework left over at the end of the day.

no no no! i'd honestly rather have school all year. think about it! we learn for 9 and 1/2 months, then over summer forget lots, and then they have to reteach us stuff we forgot when we go back to school! if it was all year with short breaks for christmas, spring break, etc, then we wouldn't forget and they wouldnt have to reteach! then we could finish school years earlier than we do now and get a move on with our lives!

@Sami_McNoodle: I don't think they were concerned about the bullying. They were concerned about the education. Bullying is not the point here, its education.

This is a bad idea for a good reason: In the classroom, sitting there for most of the day, makes us anxious to get outside. Next thing you know, people are trying to move and stretch in every possible way they can, and they are ore concerned with that instead of paying attention.

Flavor: This flavor combines the best of both worlds—fruity strawberry and sweet vanilla.
Fab Fact: This blended treat is new this year in the Strawberry Lover's bag.
