15 ways to tone up this summer

 
Get in swimsuit shape with these workout boosters from celeb trainer Ilyse Baker. She’s worked with stars like Rihanna, and last week, she took over GL’s Facebook wall for our virtual bikini bod booty camp. Here are her favorite ideas for getting fit this summer…

 

 

For a killer core, try burpees. “They get your heart rate up and work your core at the same time,” Ilyse says. Wanna trim your middle and whittle away at winter flab? Try side planks, regular planks, and push-ups.

 

Turn to cardio for lovely legs. Running, dancing and walking will get your calves looking amazing. Give your workouts a boost with dance classes! And for lean thighs, there’s nothing better than squats and lunges.

 

To tone up fast, start with small weights and high reps. Do the basics to get going: bicep curls, tricep dips, squats, lunges, crunches. Grab a friend and have a toning party!

 

Want six-pack abs this summer? “I always tell my clients that simple crunches do the job just fine,” Ilyse says. “Planks are a big favorite of mine.”
