Blueberries are blue ribbon-winning brain food

Scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston have found out that blueberries contain high levels of polyphenolics. Polyphenolics are special natural compounds that have very strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. While blueberries are awesome for you to nibble right now, get this: Scientists are discovering that they can assist in slowing down aging processes, too.

Eat up!

Consuming blueberries is linked to lower risks of age-associated decline in brain function. Eating berries may activate the brain's natural housekeeper for healthy aging—and keep ya sharp when finals come around this year, too!
