ok so my parents got a divorce over a year ago. about 6 months ago, my mom got her first job in a while. it took her forever to find a job. im glad she's found one but all she eer does is complain about it. every single day she complains. or she complains about house work. or she complains about this puppy she recently got because SHE wanted a dog so bad. me and my sister try to help her out but she alwys finds something wrong with it or complains that we should be doing more. my sister is goin to college next year and shes always out with her bf and never gets stuff done. because she's never here, my mom complains to me about her not doin stuff. i try to tell my mom that its not my fault and not to complain to me but she still does. i help her around the house but she still complains. idk why she would get a puppy because she knows all the upkeep it is. she is ALWAYS in a bad mood, which puts me in one. so, i dont want to go out hardly ever anymore so i dont.Help




Hey girlie,

Your mom is probably going through a LOT right now - more than you even see. She's complaining about her job or about housework because she isn't feeling good inside, probably about the divorce, or because she doesn't have the job she really wanted, because she's nervous about your sis growing up/moving out, etc. The best thing for you to do though is keep up with your chores, be sunny and friendly around the house (even when you don't feel like being that way), work hard in school, and remind yourself that this isn't your fault. She's dealing with lots of emotions right now and complaining is her way of venting. Even though you're tempted to shut yourself inside all the time and sulk, it's actually healthier to go out with friends, join a new club/sport, and get out of the house a little bit. Do something productive and something that you love - that way, YOU have a way to vent those feelings too that is much healthier than mom's Smile

I'm looking for a dress to wear to my 16th birthday party and to my cousins wedding, which will be in August. I like this for my party, but do you think its wedding appropriate?
Also, what color shoes would you wear with that?

I had to delete the link because we can't post outside links on GL, but that was a nice dress! Some weddings are more casual than others, so I would ask your parents what the dress code will be at this wedding before you decide what to wear. I think any neutral shoes like black or nude would look great Smile
