We tried it: A vitamin you'll actually enjoy taking

I know what you’re thinking: There’s no way on earth GL can make taking vitamins fun. I mean, the chewables taste icky. The pills are too huge to swallow without gagging. And Mom won’t go for sugar-packed gummies.

But that’s where you’re wrong, babes, ‘cause we just tested a brand new vitamin that we’re pretty sure you’re gonna love. If Pixy Stix or Fun Dip hopped on the health food bandwagon, they’d look something like our new fave thing, AlternaVites.

Here’s how it works: You take one little packet of AlternaVites a day and you get 17 essential vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A, B, C, D and E, calcium and folic acid. The packet contains a Pixy Stix-like powder that you pour, bit by bit, onto the tip of your tongue. You let the powder dissolve and repeat until you’ve taken the entire packet. You can also mix it into your morning yogurt or a smoothie, if a powdery tongue isn’t your thing. The two flavors, strawberry bubble gum and raspberry cotton candy, are pretty good. They taste more fruity than candy like, aren’t too sweet and don’t leave a funky aftertaste in your mouth.

Best of all, though, is AlternaVites doesn’t have any sugar. No high fructose corn syrup, no artificial sweeteners, coloring or preservatives. It’s certified Kosher, has no animal products or by-products, and is free of major allergens—egg, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish and shellfish. How fantastic is that?

You can get a pack of 30 for $16 and free shipping when you buy two or more packages from alternavites.com. Not bad, eh?
