Snap, Crackle, Pop!

What exactly causes ankles to crack and pop all the time? It happens all the time to me when I dance, but now that I've been doing it for a while, my ankles don't snap, crack or pop as much. Is this kind of thing hereditary? How can I make it stop?

-Anonymous

Hey, girlie! I used to dance, too, and although I've never had my ankles crack or pop, I highly suggest that you see a doctor! Since you've been dancing for a while now, it doesn't happen as often, but when it does, you should seek a professional's help.

I'm not a doctor so I'm not sure if this is hereditary, but you can ask your family members if it happens to them. Although it might not hurt or bother you when your ankles crack or pop, it is definitely wise to see what's up because the cracking and popping might end up being something serious if you don't take care of it now! Play it safe and get it checked out, Dancer! (:
