Camryn open for
One
Direction at one of their recent tour stops?
We
were lucky enough to squeeze past the swarm of screaming fans (and scared silly
parents) parked by the tour buses, to catch up with the singer before she took
center stage at Virginia’s Patriot
Center recently. Not only was Camryn lucky enough to be One Direction’s opening
act for a couple of nights, the popstar tells us she was a big fan of the boys
even before she knew she would be touring with them! “I was bouncing off the
walls and screaming,” she tells us of learning about the gig—just two weeks
before hitting the road!

Crazy Fans
Bigger
venues mean bigger crowds, and Camryn, who opened for Greyson Chance and Cody
Simpson on their Waiting 4 U tour last spring, felt the terrifying and exciting
rush of performing for thousands. “U.S. fans alone are crazy,” she says. “I’ve
seen so many people just get super duper excited for anything! Whether it’s the
lights turning off or the music coming up, everybody screams, which is amazing
to think about. I was definitely nervous, but you’ve gotta put your game face
on.”
Rock Out
While
Camryn digs 1D’s preppy look (a popular trend in Paris, according to her), she
would love to see them dress “a little bit more rocker!” The kind of rockin’
outfit she has in mind? “Black jeans, white shirt, leather jacket, Chucks,” she
tells us.
Top Tunes
When
it comes to favorite One Direction songs, Camryn has a hard time picking her
top three. “Up All Night” and “What Makes You Beautiful” definitely make her
list, but when sharing a third it was a toss up. In the end, she shares “I
Want” beats out the other contender, “One Thing.” “Those are my favorite,” she
says.
Pop
Performance
So
if Camryn were given the opportunity to perform on stage with One Direction
during one of the boys’ songs, which would she pick? “Up All Night.” “It’s a
lot like my song ‘Set the Night on Fire,’ and it’s just about having fun and
going to an awesome party. I love songs like that, they’re so upbeat!” she
says.
