What’s
one thing we were wowed by (aside from the killer performance) when we recently
caught up with One Direction’s opening act, Manika? Her crazy nail art!
“I
just love to express myself any way,” the singer says. And what better way to
express your fun side than having a rainbow of colors on your fingers? “I’m
really into funky stuff like zebra and cheetah prints, just bright neon colors,
hearts, music notes.” Manika proves you can wear all of your fave styles at once—she’s
wearing five different patterns on each hand!
Sure,
it can be overwhelming to look at your nails as a blank canvas and not know
what to put on them. That’s why Manika pulls her inspiration from mags: “I
grabbed different magazines and found one nail [design] from each,” she says.
Don’t
have the steady hand needed to paint your nails? No prob—neither does Manika.
“I can’t even paint on a clear coat on without making a mess,” she jokes. If
you’d rather have a professional do them (a la this kick-butt singer), make
sure to cut out pictures of the nails you want and bring them with you to the
salon.
Manika
wears her nails with complete confidence, and encourages you to do the same:
“Always mix it up. Who says you can’t have two different nails than the rest?
Just do it,” she tells us.
