Why did your BGF ask if you like him?


 
My BGF was talking to me one day and all of the sudden he asked me if I had a crush on him. I said no, but he thinks that I was lying. Now he won't even talk to me. Why is he so hung up on that? It's been like a month or two.

 

His Answer: “Sounds like your guy friend has a crush on you and was embarrassed you didn’t feel the same way,” says Ethan, 14, “Now he doesn’t know how to act around you and has decided just to avoid the situation.”

 

Decoded: Your BGF’s feelings were – and probs still are – hurt. He was crushing hard and is now majorly self-conscious that you weren’t feeling the same way. He thinks it’s easier to stop talking than dealing with his emotions.

 

Your Move: How would you react if you were secretly crushing on your BGF and he told you the feelings weren’t mutual? Super embarrassed, probs. That’s how he’s feeling right now. Although he never straight out said, “I like you,” that was his way of hinting that he likes you. Let him know that you still want to be friends and try to give him some space. It will take time for him to be comfortable around you again, but it will happen.

Ur BGF is probably into u and u dont know it. He probably got scared that u dont feel the same way about him and never called u again.Weel in 3rd grade my BGF and me were just friends and everyone was talking about u should date and ur a cute couple da da adda da da ...........Well there was a secret "I liked him my BGF" and it was awkwqard . In 2nd grade he lft to go to another school and that made me sad! I have a wishlist and it says"i will reunite with Josiah again" and I hope it comes true! I really do!!!!

Hey girl!  Give it time, he's hurting from the rejection and being around you is probably kind of hard for him.  When a week or so has passed, reach out and do something that you two used to do together (offer a game of Tic-Tac-Toe, text him about that ridiculous episode of his favorite TV show, anything like that).  He'll be relieved to know you want to stay friends any maybe by then he won't be so embarrassed.  Good luck!  xoxo

Hey chica!  Talk to him more!  The more you talk to him, the more clues you get as to whether he likes you back.  Now that it's summer, things will slow down a little bit, but once school starts you should make an effort to sit next to him when you can and get to know him better.  Good luck!  xoxo

First off, you should def talk to your parents about the "right" age to date. It's not worth going behind their backs, so talk to them about wanting to date and see if you can reach a compromise. But remember to be patient - if you don't have anyone in mind yet, you can't force it! Over and over, girls tell us that they find a crush/BF when they're least expecting it. Hey babe,

You need to be honest with him. It would actually hurt him more if you strung him along and were with him even though you don't have feelings for him. I know it's hard, but he deserves to know the truth. Just because he is having a hard time doesn't mean you need to suffer as well. However, if you're concerned about his mental health, talk to a trusted adult so he can get some help.

Sounds like he's just shy. He's probably embarrassed that you know his secret and may be worried that you don't really like him. Just be friendly to him and avoid talking about "liking"-- he might come around soon.

Okay, well I like this guy and I am not sure if he wants to be with me or if he just wants to hook up with me. I really like him, and I want to be with him, but I don't know if he just wants to "get with me". Hey girl!

I think you should go to the movie with him so you can really see what he's all about. If he tries to kiss you right away that's probably a sign he's not interested in who you are as a person. If he wants to have a conversation with you then he probably wants to get to know you to see if you two would be compatible. If the date doesn't go too well, then let it go and move on. But you're just going to have to take it one step at a time.

You should never be pressured into doing anything you don't want to, especially when it comes to your body! Tell him that you like him but that you don't feel comfortable with that pic. If he's a good guy, he'll respect that and leave it alone, but if he keeps pressuring you about it, you may want to rethink your relationship.

There are only 2 full days and 3 half days left of school, and i STILL cant talk to my crush. I am in 7th grade and hes in 8th grade. next year, he will be in the high school while ill be in the middle school still. You don't have to ask him out if you're not ready... if he doesn't have an email address, can he use his parents' account to send messages with you? You could also get his home phone number and call him there. If you want to ask him out, you might not have too much to lose since the year's ending, but don't rush into something you're not sure about. The new school year will be here before you know it, and you might meet tons of cute guys this summer!

A few weeks ago I texted this guy in my class one time to ask a question. Now he won't stop texting me. My phone is usually dead so I don't get them in time, but when I do turn it on there's about 4 or 5 messages saying "Hey" or "Hello?" This problem is that I don't have unlimited texting and my dad gets really mad when the phone bill turns out to be $400. This boy is getting me in trouble but I don't know how to tell him to stop. He's fun to talk to but goes overboard and texts me multiple times a day. What should I do?

It sounds like you need to be honest with this boy so he'll get the hint. Tell him the truth: You don't have unlimited texting and can't continue texting as often as he does. Tell him you're happy to have a conversation with him in person or on the phone, but that you can't text that much because of your limit. If you tell him the truth, he'll understand!

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now. He was my first kiss and everything. He had a few other girlfriends before me, and I wasn't his first kiss, but we are very close. The thing is, lately I've been thinking about other guys. I've never dated or kissed another guy , and now I feel like I never can because I'm in a serious relationship. I love him very much, and I want to be with him for a long, long time, but I also want to be a teenage girl who has crushes and dates different guys and kisses cute boys. I just feel like as SOON as I started dating, I got into a serious relationship and never got to see what it was like. We are going to be sophomores, and our relationship is definitely strong enough to last throughout high school. But I keep having these thoughts! Idk what to do.

It's totally normal to have those thoughts, but it also sounds like you care about your boyfriend a lot! What those girls are doing with dating different guys and kissing different people is really just looking for someone awesome, and you were lucky enough to find someone great right away so you skipped those steps! Remembering how great your bf is will make you realize that it's worth not living the single life. But if you do want to see what that's like, you could take a break from your relationship and start dating again when you're ready.

Engrossing yourself in a lot of fiction, whether books, TV, movies or anything else, might make you forget a little about the real world if you spend too much time watching or reading. It's great that you're reading, and the genres you like (romantic, etc.) are up to you -- just remember that those stories aren't real, and don't try to compare them with your own life, or you might get depressed like your mom said!
