Ed. Obsession Under $20: Itsy bitsy patterned bikini

I’ve searched high and low for a sweet swimsuit this season—even starting as far back as March, when we began getting in mountains of suits in our fashion closet. I’m pretty picky when it comes to prints—I don’t wear them that often, so they have to be just right.

 

Now that the swim sales are underway, I’ve got my eye on this bitty printed bandeau bikini from Target—at just $28 for the set, it’s a total steal. my mom wont let me wear a bikini till im like 16 and im almost 14 now, i feel like a little kid when i wear tankinis even if it looks like an older kid swimsuit. shes just concerned that guys will look at me more and ive tried convincing her its fine but she wont give in! HELP!

 

Hey chica!  Your mom's rules have to be followed.  Why not try a cute one piece?  They can look super sophisticated, so you won't feel like a little kid!  xoxo

Hey girl, you could wear a "bandeau." Those are really big now and are meant to cover up your bra so they don't show. Or, you could just stick to wearing it over a bathingsuit?

If it's a uniform, the good news is that everyone else will look that way, too! Try accessorizing with dress code appropriate touches, like cute shoes or a headband. That way, you'll draw attention away from the uniform and still look cute!

MOD! MOD! MOD! I havn't gotten my period ever yet, but my doctor predicted that it is coming this summer. I go to camp every day, and I don't want to bleed all over my pants! I heard that your first period there is hardly any blood. Is that true? I hope so. I heard that it is only a little bit the first time and that it won't show through. Is that true? I don't want anyone to see it!!!

 

Hey girl, well every body is different. Most hardly have any blood, luckily. Usually you can tell when your period comes because you'll have cramps, then you'll know to go into the bathroom and check real quick just to be safe!

My mom wont let me wear like short shorts like they either have to be down to my thumb or middle finger when i hold my hands down by my side, where can i find cute shorts in like fun colors and some denim ones that are pretty cheap and meet my moms requirments? Thanks a bunch!!

Hey girl, I would try department stores near you like Macy's, JC Penny's etc. They have everything! Target actually has a great selection. Definitely look there.

So when I got to redecorate my room for the first time, my friend got a new room in her basement two time the size mine. When I won a scholarship award, my other friend won the highest overall award you could get. A boy six years younger than me is playing the same difficult musical piece. Now, another friend is thinking about getting auburn highlights right before school starts- just like me. So now everyone's going to comment about how our hair looks similar.
How can I stand out without looking like I'm trying to attract attention, stay true to myself, and be different? I'm being myself- but I want to be more than myself. Thanks.

 

Hey girl, honestly keep doing what you're doing. People are always going to want what you have, its just a part of nature. But think to yourself, you're the one who wanted those things first and got them first. You are doing the right thing for yourself by just doing what you want to do. Your other friends are doing what you do because they want to follow your same foot steps and are jealous of your successes. Honestly, its a huge compliment! If you want more, try different hobbies or sports. You can always add more to your own interests!

Will you be getting in the water? If so, you should just leave your hair down! Why don't you wash and braid your hair the night before, so then that day it will be cute and wavy! After that, you don't have to worry about anything since your hair will be getting wet like everyone else's!

Since you'll be playing basketball, you really don't need to wear makeup! If it's really bothering you, swipe on some tinted moisturizer with SPF in it to cover up any blemishes you might have.

Target has some awesome blushes that come with brushes and are extremely cheap! Try Maybelline Fit Me Blush (comes in all different colors) or N°7 Mineral Blush for some cute rosy cheeks!

Hey cutie!

For an awesome hairstyle, try a cute pony, even adding a thin braid across the side of your head. Check out our post on fun types of braids for more tips. Keeping your hair out of your face (if you're dancing) is probably the best way to go.  You can always let it down if the music is really gettin to ya! For a natural makeup look, try a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation/concealer to cover up any pimples or zits. Choose a neutral eyeshadow like a brown or gold, and let your eyes pop with a thin line of dark brown eyeliner. Add a little mascara to open up your eyes, swipe on some light pink lip gloss, and you're ready to go!

Try pairing a cute flowy tank (maybe tucked in) with your body-con skirt. You can add a sweater and some cute jewelry to dress it up a bit and keep it appropriate for school. On a date, try glamming it up a little. Find a cute sundress that shows of your femininity and will def keep your new dude's eyes on ya! Add some cute chandelier earrings and flat sandals for a cute and even elegant look.
