Should looks be your number one dating priority?


 
My BFF just told me my guy friend likes me. I like him too, but there’s one problem. He’s a little overweight. I can’t get it off my mind. What should I do?


Dave: Physical attraction is important, but it shouldn’t be the determining factor. If the only drawback is that he’s a “little” overweight, don’t let that be a deal-breaker. What if he thought you’re a “little” too blonde for him? Wouldn’t that seem silly? Put the weight issue aside, and focus on his positives. I’m sure they far, um, outweigh the negatives.
 
Bill: You could be the one to help get your portly pal in shape. Plan your dates as workouts: Meet him at the roller rink, take hikes in the woods, go mountain biking. Maybe his excess weight will disappear along with your superficiality.

i met this boy at a band camp in may and he went to a different school but hes gonna be at the same middle school as me and i asked him if he was going to be in band in MS and he said yes!! we joked around a lot and he was really nice to me during the camp and im nervous about seeing him again! what if he doesnt remember me or something! help please!

 

hey! I'm sure he'll remember you, and if he doesn't just re-introduce your self and he'll be like, "oh yeah, camp was so fun!" and you guys can pick up right where you left off

MOD! I'm 16, I've liked an 18 year old guy for the past 3+ years. Just recently, he began showing true signs (that I can't question) that he might be interested (finally!), at least as a good friend, if not more. But we don't see each other on a reg. basis (seperate school), and he has lots of friends who are girls and is a nice guy in general so I can't be sure.(Not a player tho, just very sweet, good Christian guy). I only see him at youth group, and he'll be going away to college next year. So, should I consider this YG season the time to tell him how I feel even if I'm not positive he likes me "like that"? I'm not stupid, I know he's the kind of guy I want! So, be daring and tell him the truth? And, most importantly, how do I say it without being awkward? I feel like I need to tell him, since it's gone on so long.

 

Hey girl! If you feel like you need to get it off of your chest, go for it!  Be careful, though- if he's going away to college, he might not want to start something at home, especially if his college will be too far away for you to see each other regularly.  If your secret is eating at you, though, you'll have to read the signs he's sending you.  One day, after youth group, tell him you're headed to grab an ice cream and ask if he'd like to join in.  If he says yes, take that as a cute to go ahead and spill the beans.  If he seems hesitant, maybe you should stick to being friends.  Good luck! xoxo

I like this boy, but we don't talk & I'm scared I don't want him to find out I like him but I told my friend that we never talked (I trust her I never tell anyone who I like) & she told the biggest BLABBER MOUTH in school & she asked me if I wanted his number! Hey babe,

First off, you should talk to your bff about this.  Let her know that this all made you worry a bit and you're not sure how well you can trust her anymore.  She'll likely tell you that she will be more careful and more secretive from then on.

At this point, there's not much you can do about him finding out.  Either she'll tell him or she won't, but keep in mind that maybe it might end up helping you out.  Who knows, he could like you too. Jordan S.

Me and my bf were texting each other tonight and he asked me if I like anyone else. I didn't want him to freak out that I like a guy at my camp so I said no. I asked him y and he said because if it doesn't work out between us then I don't want u to feel lonely. I'm confused of this. I'm thinking this is a hint that he wants to break up with me and doesn't know how. What do u think I should do?

I think you should have a talk with him about this.  It sounds to me like you might be right, he could be leaning toward ending the relationship.  But, considering you have feelings for another boy as well, would it really be all that terrible for the relationship to end? Jordan S.
