MODMODMODMODMODMOD THIS IS IMPORTANT! i really love singing but theres a problem. So do lots of other kids in my grade. They already have like bands and have gigs but i dont have a band or chances to perform in front of other people. They all also take like singing classes with relatively influential people. I have no idea how to follow my dream because my family cant afford to get me lessons and stuff like that. Thanks and sorry this is so long!

 

Hey chica!  Lots of stars didn't take singing lessons when they were younger, the key to pursuing any dream is being willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Talk to the music teacher at your school and try out for choir, musicals, or any other situation where you can get feedback on your singing.  Once your old enough, you can start working for money to use for singing lessons.  Good luck! xoxo

What are some good toners that are cheap? I've heard that rosewater helps as a toner but I used it and it didn't work. Please help!

We're loving Clean & Clear Essentials Deep Cleansing Toner right now! But keep in mind that toner/astringent isn't necessary for everybody - if you have dry or sensitive skin, you might wanna skip the toner because it could irritate your skin. But give it a try and see what ya think! <3

Ok so I was working out (nothing big- actually a small workout 65 min. on the treadmill) and my heart rate got up to 237?!? It scares me is something wrong??




Hey girlie,

There's nothing wrong with a high heart rate during exercise (that's what you want, really!), but 237 is a little high - but to me, it sounds like something was wrong with the treadmill and it was measuring your heart rate incorrectly. You probably would've felt sick if it was this high! Most people average a heart rate between 150-200 when they're really pushing themselves and doing something physical. It's possible that your heart rate did get a little higher than this range, but it's also possible that something was "off" about the tool that was measuring it. Either way, make sure you listen to your body and don't push it if things don't feel right. A high heart rate could also be caused by your bod fighting a cold/infection/fever, stress, or dehydration. So make sure you are exercising responsibly and always drink fluids (water, sports drinks) during and after exercise. If you have any questions or further concerns about what heart rate is "normal" for you, talk to your doctor! He/she is a professional and will be able to give you great advice <3

So homecoming is a while away (I know, kinda early) but my friend and I already went and I got a dress. But I am not sure if I still like it or not. It is a plum, one shoulder (with flowers), just above the knee dress. It isnt shiny material...it is just polyester. I think it looks pretty, but too much like a bridesmaid dress. So should I go exchange it for one I like more, since I don't like this one all that much anymore? And would my friend be offended? Thanks!

hey! Think about other ways you might spend that money. if you like the bag enough to give up the idea of eating out and going to movies for a while then you should get it. If you think you'd still rather spend it on other stuff you should pass. good luck!

I was a grade 9 student this past year and fell in love with acting. I was in both ur school play and our cabaret. The thing is, the took so much time I couldn't gt all my assignments in on time so my marks went from low 90s to high 80s. My teachers made comments and my parents are disappointed so I'm not allowed to do cabaret this fall!!! This is a big hit, and my drama teacher is going to be really disappointed (like me). How do I get them to let me do it???????

 

Hey girl,

Unfortunately, grades come first a lot of the time. Explain to your drama teacher that you have to focus on your grades this fall, but you'll get RIGHT back into acting after the fall. If you really try hard and focus on your grades this fall, you can improve your time management and get your grades way up, while pleasing your parents. With this done, you can get right back into acting (while using those time management skills you gained!) and create a balance between school and acting. Good luck girly!

I've tried on makeup for school plays and stuff, and my friends think I look really good in it. The only problem is that my mom doesn't want me to wear it. I don't even want to wear much, just some masacra and eyeliner. I have really nice eyes, and people tell me I should enhance them. I can't even go out and buy it myself. How do I get her to comply with me? BtW: I'm going to eighth grade.

 

Hey girlie!

Try explaining to your mom that you don't want to wear much makeup because you agree that you don't need it. BUT you would like to accent your eyes with a little mascara. Eye liner can be a bit much, so maybe convince her to let you wear it for any big events or parties you have coming up (not necessarily school). If you act mature and responsible when you're trying to convince her, she'll be more understanding and try to reason with you. If she says absolutely no, there's not much you can do. Just give it some time...makeup isn't the most important thing in the world. She'll loosen up eventually

Nah, I don't think it's that serious. Life decisions are pretty important...I mean, they are life decisions. So being indecisive and freaking out is totally normal! Instead of seeking professional help, simply talk to a best friend or trusted adult who can give some great advice on the situation.

Hey cutie, 

Sounds like you've got the perfect set up! Dab some concealer on any blemishes and red spots. If you want to use powder (which you probably don't really need), lightly pat some on, make sure that it goes on evenly and doesn't look cakey. Add a little bit of blush on the apples of your cheeks. Sweep some eyeshadow over the main part of your lid, add mascara and lip gloss (self explanatory) and you're ready to go!

Plus if I was at public/private a school I might get in trouble to selling them. I have an etsy account, I have friends who could tell their friends, but how and where else can I sell lip gloss?

Etsy sounds like a great way to get your lip gloss business going. I would also make sure you have a parent or adult to help you and give you advice/tips throughout the process. I'm not sure that there's really anywhere else you could sell them that would be allowed.
