Check these out, too...
We would love to see the futuristic world Tally Youngblood lives in, with the hoverboards and bungee jackets! There are plenty of exciting action scenes in the book as well, which would look great on the big screen.
Magyk
We have our own idea of what this book’s magical world would look like, with The Castle, Wizard Tower and the Marram Marshes, but it would definitely be interesting to see how they would be portrayed in a movie. Spellcasting, trickery and secrets would make this a perf fantasy flick.
A 12-year-old criminal mastermind, dangerous fairies, tech-savy centaurs, code-breaking and kidnappings? We’re wondering why this imaginative, action-packed tale hasn’t been turned into a movie yet!
The Giver
This is a fascinating story about a utopian society and a boy who has been dealt the mysterious job of the Receiver—one of the only people who know the truths of the world. Your imagination can go crazy picturing the robotic people and how the boy is reacting to the world’s memories, so it would be cool to see it all laid out in a movie.
The Basic Eight
By: Daniel Handler
This book is about eight high school friends. Flannery Culp in particulary, whose diary makes up the entire novel. The darkly humorous entries detail how Flan became convicted of murder and how it is most definitely not true! We can totally see this playing out in a movie…with Flan narrating!
From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
By: E.L. Konigsburg
A lot of us as kids have considered (and maybe even succeeded in) running away from home. But how many of you would run away to the Metropolitan Museum of Art? Claudia did, and managed to hide there for an entire week, where she discovered a mysterious angel statue and the extraordinary woman who sold it.

The Westing Game
By: Ellen Raskin
Peter and the Starcatchers
By: Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
This Peter Pan prequel tells the tale of how Peter found Never Land and learned to fly. It would be so much fun to see Peter’s battles with the Black Stache and his exciting adventure with new character Molly as they fight to protect the mysterious trunk from the pirates!

by MouseHouseF on 8/17/2012 2:37:45 PM
"Artemis Fowl!" People! Grant my wish! Also, "Maximum Ride," anyone? And, about "The Giver..." apparently, it has been tossed around as an idea for a movie for ages, but never been made into a movie.
by Freakout911 on 8/12/2012 8:59:36 PM
I sooooooooooooo cant wait for the tiger's curse movie to come out!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally like Kishan better than Ren. wonder who they will cast.......
by liebling on 8/7/2012 7:16:39 PM
I love Uglies! I want that to become a movie! But only if they get it almost EXACTLY correct ;{)
by girlyschoolchik on 8/4/2012 1:46:56 PM
I just finished this...interesting book called, “Hooking Up.” It was pretty good, but if it were a movie, it would be a Romance Action movie (obviously), rated R!
by bluedogchica on 7/31/2012 5:09:05 PM
I read the Uglies series two years ago. Awesome series! It’s filled with lots of twists!
by bluedogchica on 7/31/2012 5:07:45 PM
Ever read the Immortals series by Alyson Noel? It should TOTALLY be the next Harry Potter! It is sssooooooo cool!
by bluedogchica on 7/31/2012 5:06:30 PM
The mixed up files of basil e frankweiler is already a movie i have watched it
by yzzy518 on 7/26/2012 9:44:16 PM
I've read Westing Game, Uglies, and Mixed up Files and they were all amazing! Uglies would be the best movie, with action-packed chase scenes, some agonizing romance, and futuristic techno... However, if It is a low budget film, I know I would be dissappointed, so maybe we should leave the story and it's world to our imagination.
by Queen of my life on 7/20/2012 1:34:06 AM
I haven't read any of these books, but i would suggest the iron fey series to anyone who likes mysteries, magic, tragedies, and of course a little romance here, there, and everywhere! the perfect movie ingredients!
by Sunbreath on 7/19/2012 6:17:15 PM
I'd like to see the Heroes of Olympus series and the Kane Chronicles
by 1blackat on 7/17/2012 11:32:22 PM
I've read all but 2 of them... "The Basic Eight" and "The Westing Game"..... I personally wish that they would make some new films based strictly on the Agatha Christie novels.... and "The Three Musketeers" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls"....... a lot of good classic books should be movies..... out of the list, I would most enjoy watching "The Uglies," "The Giver," and the whole "Magyk" series
by kiwi116 on 7/16/2012 12:27:38 PM
Every need a book to read but not sure what to read? Well, I am a total bookworm so if you would like me to recommend a book that you might like head on over to my profile and leave me a message. In order for me to ensure that the book I recommend is a good match please give me atleast 3 things you look for in a book! (ex: Love, tragic, adventure, aneimals, etc.) Or you can leave me atleast 2 books you enjoyed reading!
by bubblegum3 on 7/15/2012 10:10:55 PM

by makmnm on 7/14/2012 4:51:52 PM
Uglies and The Giver should definitely be movies. I don't really agree with Peter and the Starcatchers, though. That wasn't my favorite book. :/
by raininghippos on 7/14/2012 4:49:26 PM
From the mixed up files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler actually was made into a TV movie in 1995! I saw it last year and it was really good! Here's the link for IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113126/ Also as for the Uglies, a movie is set to come out, but theres no cast or release date yet. I'm excited though! Magyk was supposed to be made into a movie by Warner Bros. but it was cancelled! I was really disappointed. An Artemis Fowl movie is in the works, but it has been since 2006 so.. That probably won't happen at this point. The Giver movie is still "in development" But its set to come out in 2013 The Basic Eight... Nope nothing The Westing Game was made into a tv movie in 1997 and it was really good! Peter and the Starcatchers was announced and is now being written! These were all excellent books! And I can't wait to see some of the movies! ~Ava
by hermione&ron on 7/14/2012 4:41:04 PM

by ninadasiy on 7/14/2012 2:00:56 PM
I would LOVE to see the Red Pyramid come out as a movie!! And then the other books in the series, of course! Artemis Fowl was actually going to be a movie years ago, and they were working on casting and everything, but it hasn't come out yet. It's so depressing, because I love that series!
by st8cfab on 7/14/2012 1:48:38 PM
I'd love to see the Uglies series made into movies.

MOD MOD MOD Who wrote this article? Send them my love for including The Basic Eight. Seriously, anyone else reading this, THIS BOOK IS HILARIOUS. (Daniel Handler is also the person that wrote a Series of Unfortunate Events, and he's The Magnetic Fields' accordionist.)
Hey raspberries and peaches, glad you enjoyed it! I’m gonna have to check that book out. Xoxo

The Giver would be such a depressing movie! And the Uglies series is amazing, as is the Artemis Fowl series--did you know that the final book just came out?! I must get it, I have all of them EXCEPT for that one.
by 7200wolfgirl7200 on 7/14/2012 12:18:44 PM

by cookiemonster15 on 7/14/2012 10:33:22 AM
