Calling all scribblers! Ya better put pen to paper, pronto, babes, 'cause there's only one day left to enter GL's Second Annual Fab Fiction Contest. Think you've got what it takes to win the top prize--and maybe even be published in the pages of your favorite mag? Read on for the rules!

1. You must submit a piece of totally original fiction (500-1,500 words) between now and July 17th, 2012. Stories should be emailed to contests@girlslife.com with “Fab Fiction Contest” in the subject line.

2. The piece must be either in a Microsoft Word document or pasted in the body of your email.

3. Please double-space your submission and use size 12 Times New Roman font, so our readers will be able read everything you’ve written.

4. Include your name and age at the top of your entry.

5. Each girl can submit up to 3 stories!

Prizes include piles of books, journals, writing supplies and more. Enter now--the clock's ticking!

Here is a good cause my friends and I are involved in, it's a page on Facebook called "Hold A Child's Hand". Here's what it's about:
There were many goals we wanted to accomplish with our project. One of our goals was to raise awareness of the importance of the preservative free drug called, Methotrexate. (a drug that helps children fighting cancer) This medication has been in short supply for some time, and we decided that we would contact the congressmen of all 50 states, as well as President Obama, to inform them of the issue. Another goal was to help families who are affected by childhood cancer. To do this, we planned many events to raise money for cancer research and financial assistance for families. Our goal was to raise at least $1000 for a foundation called “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” which focuses on finding a cure for childhood cancer, and providing funds to help families as their child endures treatment. Another goal was to raise $150 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

How will we know who's won? If so, when?

We'll definitely announce the winner on GL.com after our judge has been able to read through all the entries and select a winner.
