5 fun things to do with your sibs

Check these out, too...

  • Should you tell him how ya feel before school ends?
  • 16 fun in the sun summertime dates
  • Book series you've gotta start this summer
  • 10-minute DIYs to dress up your bedroom
  • Throw a last-minute Memorial Day cookout
When all your gals are off at camp and you’re stuck at home with the fam, what’re you supposed to do to keep boredom at bay? Well, that’s where your sibs come in. They’re not half bad if ya give ‘em a chance, so here are 5 fun things you can do together to pass the time.

Hose Wars

Throw on your swimsuits, and head out to the backyard. There’s a waterpark just waitin’ for ya, and it won’t cost you a cent. Put your thumb over the end of the hose so that most of the hole is covered, and then you can create different sprinkler effects. Just make sure that everyone gets a fair turn being the sprinkler to keep your summer fun from turning into a summer fight.

Gamers, Minus the Videos

Pull out a variety of boardgames, so that there’s something for everyone – the lucky sib, the smart one, and the goofy one. Then you can take turns picking your fave games and totally crushing each other (in the nicest way possible, of course). Also, see what games you’ve got lying around that ya haven’t tried yet. Sometimes you’ll find that the “grownup games,” like Scrabble or Taboo, that your ‘rents thought would bore you when you were younger are pretty fun now.

Tasty Treats

Everybody loves sugary cereal, right? Make it even better by putting it into Rice Krispie Treats. They’re really simple to make, and you can do a couple batches, using a different kind of puffed cereal each time. All you have to do is prepare a baking pan with cooking spray, and then melt ¼ cup of butter and 5 cups of marshmallows over low heat on the stove. Pour the melted mixture into a bowl, and stir in 5 ½ cups of your and your sibs’ fave cereal. Then just pour it all into the prepared pan, press it down, and let it cool for a while. Voila! A yummy homemade snack for you and your sibs to share.

Olympics FTW

While you’re waiting for the real Summer Olympics to start, have your own! Grab your sibs, and hold a series of competitions in your backyard. You can play traditional sports, like basketball and soccer, and you can also do your own crazy ones. Make up an obstacle course, have a hula-hooping contest, throw some water balloons, and do the limbo. If you wanna go all out, you and your sibs can even make medals for the winners at the end of the day.

Not-So-Embarrassing Home Videos

Usually when Mom and Dad bring out the home videos, you and your sibs groan. It’s gonna be you doing silly stuff when you were a baby – super boring, and super embarrassing. But now, you can make your own home videos! Grab the camera (carefully), and see what you and your sibs can come up with. Try doing a parody of a movie genre, like an extra sappy romance or a dorky horror film. You can write up a script, or just see how good you all are at improv. Then when Mom and Dad get home in the evening, you can have a screening. And be sure you and your sibs get the best seats in the house, since you’re the stars!

So chickies, what are some fun things you do with your sibs when you’re lookin’ for boredom busters?

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's this really sweet/funny guy who I have so much in common with that's always flirting with me. Problem is he's in 9th grade and I'm in 11th. I know the age difference is to weird for a relationship to work but am I weird to enjoy flirting with him?
He's mature for his age (he's so smart he's in a lot of junior classes)..he's actually ahead of me in math. Anyway, just seeking advice on what to do....he's the only guy that's liked me for a while now and I'm finding it really sad that the only guy that likes me is one I can't be with..idk but if you have any advice or opinions, I'd really appreciate it.

Hey babe,

The truth is, age differences in high school are a huge deal because of maturity. Everyone does an insane amount of growing up in those four short years, so it can be difficult to relate to a freshmen when you're say, a junior. BUT, that doesn't mean it's impossible. It's not weird that you like to flirt with him-- flirting is fun! Just don't toy with his emotions if you know nothing will ever happen between the two of you. Xoxo

MOD MOD MOD
why is it that my family baby's my brother? Im 12 he's 10 and my sister is 8 so hes the middle child not even the youngest! my sister is tuffer than him because of this! the other day he had a tempertantrum (i remind you hes 10) because we didnt have anything he wanted for lunch and he was kicking and screaming and crying. Plus my mom and dad will give him something in return for going to his hockey practice like money or buy him something. This morning he goes up to me and says "i got to layer my slushy after hockey" so i complained to my mom and she didnt do anything! and he kept saying he earned it and i told him so? i work hard to memorize my songs for glee and learn lines for acting and learn the dance steps i need to know yet he thinks he works hard. what do you think should he not be getting this stuff or should we all be or what? i think i could at lease get a good job but my dad had to miss some of my preformances for hockey.. sorry this is so long

Hey girl, your bro could be getting special treatment 'cause he's the only boy in your fam. I know that's not exactly fair, but you have to remember that he and your dad are a bit outnumbered. So just try to be understanding, and enjoy the fact that you can motivate yourself to work hard without needing rewards. That'll get you far in life, and maybe your bro will eventually learn to follow your good example.
