  • Book series you've gotta start this summer
Remember Hermione’s carry-all beaded handbag? If only we could carry our entire makeup collection around with us in one classic little black bag this summer! But because we can’t, we’ve created a list of the 10 beauty products you’ll need for any vacation. Everything here should fit into a small, cute cosmetic bag. Pop this into your suitcase and you’ll have more space for everything else (like shoes!).

    1. A cute cosmetics carryall

We love, love, love this Parisian inspired cosmetic bag! Available in turquoise and pink, this bag easily fits most of your favorite beauty products. The glossy finish also prevents it from getting wet in the bathroom. Score!

Forever 21 Small Parisian Cosmetic Bag, $6, forever21.com

  • 2shampoo.jpg

    2. 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner

This 2-in-1 shampoo + conditioner helps you save time in the shower so that you can go out and enjoy the sunshine. Just because you’re short on time doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your hair—this product leaves hair feeling silky and hydrated from oily roots to dry ends. Not only is it easy breezy, it also smells like Hawaii and coconuts in a bottle! Pour some in a travel-size container—you won’t need a ton.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration 2 in 1 Moisturizing Shampoo + Conditioner, $4, drugstore.com
  • 3cleaningwipes.jpg

    3. Cleansing cloths

It’s important to make sure to clean your face thoroughly before slipping into those PJs. These makeup remover wipes completely zap oil, dirt and (even waterproof!) makeup from your face. There’s no need to rinse afterwards. As a plus, it’s oil-free which means it shouldn’t create breakouts, keeping you smooth-faced all summer.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Makeup Remover Wipes, $8, ulta.com

  • 4tint.jpg

    4. Lip/cheek stain

While this is a splurge buy, this product is definitely worth it. This mango-tinted stain serves a dual purpose. You can blend it out on your cheeks to create a coral glow or smooth it onto your lips to create that perfect pout! Look sun-kissed and perfectly flushed from sunrise to sunset.

Benefit Cha Cha Tint, $29, ulta.com
  • 5bb.jpg

    5. B.B. Creams

You’ve probably heard all the rage about B.B. creams by this point (read more HERE), but B.B. creams are definitely the perfect product to bring around with you on all your travels. This amazing cream moisturizes, perfects and protects (with SPF 15) your skin. This is a great foundation alternative for ladies on-the-go. It keeps you looking dewy and natural, and it has great staying power in even the most humid and hot days. And believe it or not, your skin will look great after you remove your makeup too!

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream, $13, ulta.com

  • 6wetskin.jpg

    6. SPF

You’ll probably be chillin’ in the sun, but your skin will be scorched without protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays! Make sure to apply sunscreen regularly (read about sunscreen myths HERE). This oil-free sunscreen by Neutrogena is easy to apply and packs SPF 30. To make things even better, you can apply it on wet skin without worrying about it sliding right off!

Neutrogena Wet Skin Sunblock Spray (SPF 30), $8, drugstore.com

  • 7lumitouch.jpg

    7. Highlighting concealer

If you have trouble with concealers, make sure to check out this relatively new multipurpose concealer from Maybelline. It illuminates as it covers for brighter, beautiful skin. We like patting it around the eyes to brighten dark circles. Blend out on the bridge of your nose, the browbone and even on smile lines for a lovely, luminescent glow. It comes with a brush applicator to make application a breeze.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer, $8, ulta.com
  • 8mascara.jpg

    8. Waterproof mascara

This mascara maxes out every little lash to give your gaze that extra kick. The waterproof formula also doesn’t wash off with sweat and water, which means you don’t have to worry about it running down your face!

CoverGirl LashBlast Waterproof Volume Mascara in Very Black, $6, drugstore.com
  • 9venus.jpg

    9. 2-in-1 razor

Use this razor to get beach-ready. It also includes a moisturizing bar right against the blade so that you don’t need to bring shaving cream. Shaving has never been so cinchy!

Gillette Venus Breeze, Razor Plus Shave Gel Bars, $11, drugstore.com
  • 10eyeliner.jpg

    10. Black liner

For nights out, you might want to do something a little more special. This waterproof pencil eyeliner by NYX comes in a variety of bold shades from jet black to sunrise blue. Most importantly, because it’s as smooth and creamy as butter, it doesn’t painfully tug on your eyelids for those of you with sensitive skin! Place it on the waterline to make lashes appear fuller or gently smudge it out to create a subtle smoky eye.

NYX Slide On Pencil, $8, ulta.com

MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD MOD
Hi mod! Ok so tomorrow's my 13th birthday and i'm going to the melting pot for dinner, it's kinda dressy so I wanted to dress up a little and show everyone i've grown up. I have a few dresses, a rainbow betsy johnson one, a black sequined one and a plain black one. Any clothes/hair/makeup ideas? Thanks!

Hey girlie,

If you want to give off a mature and classy vibe, I would go with the plain black dress! Simple and chic Smile Try pulling your hair into a sleek high ponytail and keep your makeup natural with a little twist - a cat eye eyeliner, a red lip, sparkly gold eyeshadow, etc. (Just pick one!) I think that'll be the perfect way to give off the "grown up" vibe you're looking for!

MOD MOD MOD I am supposed to get braces on August 15th but I found the Damon system which I know GL did a contest for. I did a little research and they seem smaller, more comfortable and a little bit less visible than traditional braces. I also found that my Orthodontist offers the Damon System. How can I ask my Mom, Dad and Orthodontist about switching to these instead? Thanks!

Hey girlie,

Try printing out the info on the Damon System and bringing it to your parents. Tell them you've done some research on it and it seems like an interesting option (then tell them what you like about it, aka they're smaller, less visible, etc.). Give them time to read over it and then ask if you can bring it up with your orthodontist, to get his/her professional opinion and see if it could work for you. Remember if you need really serious straightening, you might have to go with the normal, stronger braces - everyone's different and different options will suit them more/less than someone else. So make sure you communicate with your orthodontist about all your options and you'll be in great shape!

MOD
there's this girl in my grade and she's not very nice. i got the lead in the school play last year (and one of the leads the year before that). and my mom helps with the school play. this girl always tells me stuff like how people say i only get the leads because of my mom (even though she was my same part in last years play). she tells me about people who hate me and what they say! my boyfriend kept flirting with her last year. she always brags about what an amazing singer is and how she's going to be famous. her parents love her and sent her to this expensive summer camp across the country. she said to me "when i am famous, you can be my songwriter" even though she knows i want to act too. Everybody thinks she's amazing. It's so hard because i want to act when im older too! my (trusted) friend said that she was at a sleepover with her and she said that "I was too short" and that "I only get the parts because of my mom" . I'm sorry if this is really long but i need help!!

Hey girl,

Ugh, mean girls. The best thing to do with that type of girl is to simply ignore. I know it might be super frustrating and difficult to ignore her mean comments, but if you let it all just pass over your head and truly don't listen to her, she should eventually back off. If she realizes that she's not bothering you, she might get tired of it...believe it or not it takes a lot of energy to be mean to someone. Hopefully those around you will start realizing her mean girl demeanor if she continues the mean comments while you take them with a grain of salt. Kill her with kindness, be super nice that she'll HAVE to stop.
