The best way to get a better butt? Work that incline!
 
"Increasing the incline on a treadmill or running or walking uphill is a great way to burn calories," says Kelly Gonzalez, a fitness consultant in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Plus, by heading uphill, you'll target your glutes, hamstrings and calves without putting too much stress on your joints.
 
To give it a try, hop on a treadmill and warm up for three minutes at an easy pace and 3 percent incline. Every three minutes, increase the incline by 3 percent until you're at 15 percent. Then, work your way back to the start. Do this four times a week and say hello to short shorts.

This is a really REALLY good workout! After I got back from the gym after my first time trying this workout, my calves (Lower legs) were looking slightly more toned - GL workout are really good - especially this one, for total anti-runners like myself!

So I just got my first period yesterday, but I'm not allowed to wear a tampon. I swim as my main source of fun and exercise, and I haven't swam for a few days before my period, so how can I keep my endurance up for the remainder of my period so I won't be lousy at swimming when I hit the water?

so i was invited to this pool party but idk what bathing suit i should wear- i have 2 options 1.) Tankini- pros: hides my stomach cons: shows my weird tan line and is 2 year old so it a bit stretched out 2.) Bikini- pros: brand new and fits my body well cons: also shows my weird tan line and it shows a lot more than i'm comfortable showing around people that i'm not really that good of friends with (aka my whole back and stomach) I don't know what i should doFrown

Wear whichever one you want! It sounds like you would be more comfortable in the tankini, but it's really up to you. You could also ask your mom or friends for advice on which to wear!

are there any other ways to get a good butt even if i dont have a tredmill with an incline? I do have a tredmill(no incline) but its at my dads and i only see him every thursday and everyother weekend. Do you have any special excersises to target my stomache area and thieghs?

i don't feel good about myself. ever. i always think I'm fat and ugly. how can i stop being so negative evreytime look at my reflection? i try to find things i like but every time just compare to people similar to me.

Hey Sunny4132, you can always get your parents to drive you to a nearby park or track. See if there are any small hills you can climb. If all else fails you can exercise on your house steps or run around your neighborhood. Hope this helps! Xoxo

Hey dancelovervictoria, no worries girly! No one was born a cheerleader they learned through practice and handwork. Cheering involves a lot of flipping and jumping so get to stretching. Stretch your limbs and work out doing cartwheels, flips and tumbles. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated as there is a lot of screaming and clapping too. Good luck girl! Xoxo

hey! i need help deciding on something. lately i've been involved in a teen volunteering camp. tomorrow i have two choices. 1)go to the pool with all my friends in the camp 2) do a puppet show at the library with 1 of my friends. im not sure what to do, the puppet show sounds fun, but so does the pool,the puppet show gains volunterr hours but the pool doesnt. but the boys in the camp are going swimming and i want to go also. what should i do???????

Is there any way you could do both somehow? Pool tomorrow and puppet show another day? Or puppet show tomorrow and pool get-together the next day? Personally, I'd probably do the volunteer hours because you're getting them out of the way. And who knows - your friends might still be at the pool when you're done! Smile

MOD MOD MOD!! Is this a good workout plan? I run interval running 30 minutes a day. And 3 or 4 times a week. Should I do it 3 times a week or 4? I want to lose weight but I don't want to do running every single day. I eat as healthy as possible. I also do workouts after. Also is intervals better or regular running? Thanks in advance!xx




Hey girlie,

You should definitely mix it up! Intervals are great, and you could incorporate long distance jogging to keep your workout fresh. You could also change the workout length, 30 minutes one day then 45 minutes the next day, etc. 3-4 days a week is perfect - shoot for 4 if you can manage, but you want to give yourself at least 2 days of rest during the week! But choosing the exact amount of workouts is up to you and your schedule Smile

I'm friends with this girl,let's call her E. We get on really well,and we still do,but now this other girl,let's call her A,used to be be one of my best friends until I realized she was using me and I didn't like being around her; she always talked behind people's backs. Now that this girl has gotten the message because ignore her texts mostly and when we talk I don't put much energy into it,she is trying to become beasties with E. It does bother me a little,but what REALLY upsets me is that she has told me she hates E before and now she's using E. What should I do!?!?!?!?!?!?

 

Hey girlie! Did she flat out tell you she's using E?  If so, you might want to calmly warn E that she should be careful about A.  The problem is, you don't want to sound as catty as A when you do it! Talking about girls behind their backs is mean, and your friend might not want to listen when you tell her what you think A is doing.  If that's the case, then you have to let E find out the hard way that A is insincere.  It'll be tough, since you know what's coming, but in the end, it isn't your place to tell your friends who they can and can't be friends with.  Good luck! xoxo

Okay so i really want to be an actress but i live in nebraska and dont know how to get discovered. A lot of people say im pretty im 12 and have taken acting classes. Should try to become an actress or just give it up? thx! Smile

 

Hey chica! Don't give up! You don't have to be "discovered" at 12, you have plenty of time to get some experience before you try and move to LA or New York to find work.  Act in plays in your middle school or high school, try local theater, and be on the look out for casting calls for commercials and stuff in your area.  Once you're older, head to somewhere where you can find more work.  Good luck!

Hi! I'm a dancer, and I have really tight calves. Whenever I stretch I feel the stretch in my calves way before anything else. I also read somewhere tight calves go along with shin splints and when I ran track during the year I would always get shin splints. Should stretching help? If so, what would be good stretches? Thanks so much!

 

Hey girl!  Stretching might help, but depending on how active you are and your shin splints, some stretches might do more harm than good.  Talk to your coach or dance instructor and let them know what's up.  They'll be able to give you specific stretches that can help you.  xoxo
