Everyone says that you’re supposed to drink about 8 glasses of water a day, but that seems like an awful lot. Well, guess what, babes: Ya might wanna consider fitting in the extra H20 because aside from the taste, water is anything but boring. Check out these six reasons you need to stay hydrated this summer—and why water should be your choice sip.

 

 

Smooth Skin

Believe it or not, being dehydrated will actually make your skin more wrinkly and dry. So in order to avoid looking like a raisin, make sure your skin cells are gettin’ all the water they need to keep your skin lookin’ picture perf.

 

Nix Your Nibblin’

Drinking more water can actually help you lose weight. The water fills you up, so you’re not craving so much snackage. Plus, it’s always better to drink all-natural, zero-calorie water than sugary, calorie-filled sodas and sports drinks.

 

Fight Asthma

If asthmatics don’t get enough water, their histamine levels increase, which means that their airways will be closed down in order to conserve the liquid that they do have. So to keep those airways open, make that water bottle your new BFF.

 

Stay Cool

Water keeps the temperature of your bod stable because it lets you sweat. If there’s not enough fluid in your body, you won’t have any extra to sweat off. And gross as it is, sweating does help you chill out because the water leaving your skin gives you a cool sensation.

Cells need water to stay healthy. When you get dehydrated, they shrivel, which makes your muscles feel tired and weak. That’s why it’s extra important to drink lots of water when you’re workin’ out or playing sports.

This is kinda embarrassing but i have had my period for about 5-6 months and I am very irregular. I will get my period real light for a week and get it again like that in two weeks. Is this normal? Thanks

Hey girlie,

Not embarrassing at all! The truth is, this is TOTALLY normal. I know, periods are already tough to deal with... and then they have to get all irregular too?! But don't sweat it Smile Especially in your first year, it's completely normal to get your period after two weeks, to skip a month, to have lighter/heavier periods, and to not know exactly what day it will come. If you're worried about your period (like if you're getting it full-on every two weeks), feel free to call your doc just to make sure everything is healthy. But otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it! Spotting and irregular periods are totally normal right now Smile

Tomorrow me, my brother, and our best friends are going to a big water park. We were going to go a week ago but my friend got sick so we reschedule ! Now I have a cold!! I'm afraid I'll get sicker tomorrow and we won't be able to go and this is our last chance to go! Do you have any tips for me to get better? I'm staying home all day so I'm getting plenty of rest. . I'm of also drinking lots of water and eating lots of fruit and feel better then I did this morning. Thank You!




Hey girl!

It's definitely smart to keep drinking lots of fluids, and get plenty of rest. Also make sure to take medicine - it will not only help you feel better now, it will help you recover quickly. Tomorrow, make sure you take medicine with you, and bring clothes to change out of right away when you're done, so you don't stay in a wet suit for longer than you have to. I hope you feel better soon!
