So my BGF has liked me since last September, but he's super shy, so he hasn't asked me out until a few days ago via email. He said I was beautiful and had a great personality,and then asked me out. But the thing is I really preferred him as a friend, and we're 12 so I really don't feel like we should be dating, and I didn't want to break up with him and not be friends any more, so, I emailed him back saying exactly that , and he said that he fully understands. But now I'm confused because i think I like him as more than friends, because he has always been super nice to me, and I also appreciate our being friends. What do I do?

Even if you do like him, it sounds like you're not ready to commit to a relationship, which is fine! There's no rush to get more involved than you have to. Even if you both like each other, you don't have to start dating now. You'll know when the time is right!
