One day I was really bored, so I found this picture of Niall from One Direction and edited it so he was holding a sign that said "Niall loves Emily," which is my name. I put the picture on Facebook. When I got on later, this guy commented on it saying, "I don't think any guy would ever tell you that." Then later this other guy commented, "I agree you're too ugly." It was sooo mean!!

That is so horrible. But who ever posted that, if it makes you feel better, guys are sometimes mean just because they are jerks, but alot of the time, if a guy has a crush in you, he will be mean or rude to you and tease you, because he dosent want his true feelings to show, so that is how he covers them up.

My best friend is a boy and we talk alot and are really close we hang out with a few of his friendz and a few of my friendz but lately everyone is saying that we act like we are together and my BGF told me that when he pictures me he pictures mhy best fries=nd next to me and us lafing and having fun...one of my good girl...friends told me that we look really cute together...what does this all mean and what do i do?????

 

Hey! Do you think you have a crush on him? I know there's a lot of pressure to label your feelings one way or the other, but you really don't have to. The best way to deal with this is to continue to be his friend and see if something more happens naturally. I have seen so many girls get hurt and ruin friendships because they "had to know" if someone liked them, and they asked the guy about it and made the whole situation awkward. I even did that myself when I was younger. It's better to have a secret crush on your friend than to have a public crush on your ex-friend. good luck!

Hey! It's possible that he likes you both. Proceed with caution though. If he seems like he's leading you on don't bother with the guy.

So my BGF has liked me since last September, but he's super shy, so he hasn't asked me out until a few days ago via email. He said I was beautiful and had a great personality,and then asked me out. But the thing is I really preferred him as a friend, and we're 12 so I really don't feel like we should be dating, and I didn't want to break up with him and not be friends any more, so, I emailed him back saying exactly that , and he said that he fully understands. Even if you do like him, it sounds like you're not ready to commit to a relationship, which is fine! There's no rush to get more involved than you have to. Even if you both like each other, you don't have to start dating now. You'll know when the time is right!

There are a million stores you can go to so it's a little tough for me to guide you to specific stores. For example, pair some acid wash ripped jeans with a leopard print top and a cool vest. But whenever I get something wrong in life, I just give up! How do I build self confidence?

It's good that you're not the kind of person who brags about all your accomplishments--that wouldn't be good! It's OK to be hard on yourself and challenge yourself to be better, but you need to give yourself a little more credit. You've got a lot going for you and you need to embrace that! Next time you want to give up on something, remember all the things you succeed at. Building self-confidence can take some time, but I think you can do it!

When I dated who is now my ex, + soon after we broke up, I was really popular and he was a "loser" (by society) and we some how got to know each other. We only lasted one week and he was the shy guy and I was the outcast popular crowd girl. But after a few months, we hated each other and he stayed being popular once I backed off because off drama. But now I'm becoming more popular again and we don't hate each other anymore. Why is that working this way? Why'd he stay popular?

MOD MOD MOD!! ok so ive always wanted to be in my school's ASB but you have to be in 8th grade. so last year i applied and i got in. and all of asb got together for the 8th grade dance (we were in 7th and helping out) and the worst people got in! theres this group that ive gone to school with since kindergarden and they are so annoying and rude and stuck up and ive had to be in their classes since im in honors and they ALL got in and idk wat to do cuz ive dreamed of being in asb forever and now i hate it and idk if i can deal with them for a year! i want to contribute my ideas to asb but i feel like ill be overshadowed and the teacher even thinks im shy( and im not!) and i dont know if i should quit when school starts back up but i dont want the teacher to think im a quiter! help!

You can definitely make it through this year! I know it. It's easy to get discouraged by the people around you, but the truth is you're not in this program to make friends. You have your friends from before, so stick with them! And look at this as a great opportunity to learn a lot, prepare for college in the future, and challenge yourself. Try asking her what she wants to do! If she says "nothing," you could watch an upbeat movie (no love stories!), bake her favorite brownies/cookies, put on music and start dancing around/try to get her to join, bring her ice cream, or drag her out to do something fun, like go to the mall. It's normal to be bummed about this, so don't expect a total turn-around right away. But it's so sweet you're trying to make her happy again - you're a great sis and she will def appreciate it!

MODMODMOD!! I am going to a new school this year. I'm an incoming freshman and I don't know ANYONE. At freshman orientation, all the kids wouldn't look at me. When I would say hi, they would turn away! There was one girl who asked my name and what school I went to. I told her then she LAUGHED in my face D:. Most of the people are popular mean girls, jocks, and country guys. I only made one friend. We're both in band together. Can I only count on band peers to be nice? How do I let these people to stop laughing at me (I went to a rival school before, too.) and get to know the real me? I'm pretty nice, but no one seems interested in anything I have to say Frown

Stick with that friend! You should definitely look for people in your activities/clubs/sports that make you feel like it's ok to be yourself. You can't count on anyone to be nice, but it's easier to connect with new friends when you have something in common, like your love of band! Be yourself, walk proud and don't let these meanies get you down. There's no reason you shouldn't enjoy your high school experience! You aren't "lesser" than them and you don't deserve to be laughed at, so don't even let it affect you. Carry on and stick with the friends you do make. Don't worry about the haters - there will ALWAYS be haters, and they will always matter less than the supportive people who care about you <3

Gosh. That sucks. My advice: Just don't get upset. Getting upset will show them that what they are trying to do (hurt your feelings, make you cry), is working, and they will keep on doing things like that. Just be the bigger person and ignore them.

Don't sweat it for a second! If these guys are really wasting their lives away on a social network and wearing people's self confidence down in order to boost their own, they aren't worth an ounce of thought. To prove your INNER beauty, be the bigger person and understand that you know something about them that they do not.
