Looks like the final bell at Hollywood Arts High has been
rung! According to reports from
Deadline,
Nickelodeon has decided to cancel
Victorious after three seasons.
But, why?! Surely, there was enough material between the quirky, hilarious,
musical cast to churn out at least one more season, no? Well, according to the
show’s writer/producer, Dan Schneider, the end was out of his control, writing
on his personal blog, “This was the network’s decision – not mine.”
And could there have been early signs of Victorious’ demise? Nickelodeon
did just announce it picked up a new pilot, Sam & Cat, about,
you guessed it, iCarly’s Sam Puckett and Victorious’ Cat
Valentine. The new comedic spin-off is set to follow the two as they become
best buds—and unlikely roommates—swapping a normal after-school gig with their
own babysitting business. The Baby-sitters Club 2.0, anyone?
While we’re pumped for the new show (also written and produced by Dan
Schneider) and sad Victorious will be no more, we do have to remember that
there are still more new episodes coming our way this fall. So let’s watch
these last 15 in all of their laughable glory and cheer on the stars in their
new endeavors. What do you say?
Are you sad Victorious is going to be over? Will you be watching Sam
& Cat? Blog about it, babes.
