I REALLY like this guy that is in 9th grade and I’m in 7th, so I hardly ever get to see him. But we talked to each other a lot at band camp. I want to get to know him better, but the only time we see each other is during band. How do I get him to like me and how do I find a way to spend more time with him?

Hey girl! If you really think that you two have a shot at making it, just talk to him! Do you guys have any inside jokes from band camp, or any mutual friends? Chat up the cutie during band, and see if he’s interested. If you’re bold, try to organize a band hangout—a trip to the movies, or grabbing some fro-yo after practice. It’ll give you two lots of time to talk and spend time together without the pressure of being alone. Don’t get nervous; just be your awesome self. There’s no way he won’t like you once he gets to know you.

I’m not going to lie to you though, age differences are tough—especially when he's in high school and you're still in middle school. He may be embarrassed to admit that he likes you because you’re younger, and you may feel weird around his older buds. If you hardly get to see him now, it probably won’t get easier to hang out even if you two start dating. I’d say go for it, but be careful and stay on the lookout. There are awesome guys everywhere, and you might miss the hottie in homeroom because you’re so focused on the out-of-reach high schooler.

I was talking to one of my best friends today, and she told me that the guy I like hasn't done the best things (nothing too risque or anything) but I think what she heard are rumors. Also, I've seen the way he acts around me and to me and I see that he's very kind and respectable. I personally think he just acts like that because he wants to "fit in" and be like everyone else. I know that's a bad trait, but should I still believe that he's a good person? Thank youu!!!

If you haven't seen that stuff for yourself, you should definitely give him a chance -- it would be really sad to base your judgment on hearsay! If he's treating you well, that's what matters. You don't even know whether that stuff is true!
