From endless lectures to
assignments you can finish up in no time flat, the school day is packed with
opps for you to get in a mini workout. We’ve got four easy ways to sneak a
little fitness into fifth period. Pair ‘em with cardio four times a week and
you’ll be seein’ toned legs ‘n’ abs in just a few weeks…and no one will be any
wiser about workout ways.
Leg extensions in Latin
While sitting at your desk, extend your legs, one at a time, until they
are completely straight. Hold for 30 to 60 seconds at a time, then slowly
release back to the floor. If ya need to, keep your legs at an angle so they
slide under the chair in front of you. For a serious burn, try 10 to 15 reps at
a snail’s pace, using your abs to pull your legs up and lower them down.
Hip flexors in history
While sitting in your chair, lift your right foot a few inches off the
ground. Keep your knee bent at a 90-degree angle and hold the position for a
full minute. Lower, then do the same with your left foot. Repeat.
Toe raises in trig
You can do this while sitting or standing for a great calf stretch.
With your heels on the ground, flex your toes up toward the ceiling. Hold for
ten seconds, then release.
Late to class?
Get your cardio in and book it, babe! Jog up the stairs, pulling your
knees up as high as you can. Or, speed walk down the halls. Consider the
different muscle groups in your body and try to target them. For you calves,
spring forward energetically off your heels when you take a step. For your bum,
squeeze your glutes as you walk. For your abs, suck your belly in and stand
tall as you weave through traffic.
