My best friend is acting like a different person

 

My best friend and I used to have so much fun together. We played outside, made up stories, acted them out, etc. Last summer, she went to camp and made friends with some girls who go to our school. They totally changed her. She wears skirts, tights and sweaters, and wants to look at fashion magazines instead of doing the stuff we used to do. Our moms are friends, so they want us to stay friends. She’s still really nice, but it’s like being with a different person. I’ve tried talking to her, but she just smiles and says I’m still her friend.

 

Dear Where Did She Go?,

It’s hard when friends grow in different directions or at different rates. I’m glad this girl is still nice and friendly toward you (as opposed to distant and snobby), but I’m sorry you two are out of sync. Give her some space but still hang out a little, and look around to see if an acquaintance could become a closer friend. Someone on your bus? The new girl at school?

 

While casting around for new buds, don’t give up on your BFF. Who knows? In a few years, the two of you may be going off to camp together—or even double dating!

Ohhhh I'm so sorry I've been acting like that to my all my friends since I got back from summer vacation in Florida! So sorry I know it must be terrible me and my BFF had a fight my first day back. But she's the only one who thinks we're BFFs we are barley even friends. I mean she's is 10 I'm 13 that's a big difference. ( but She's still taller that me) oh plz help I'm too scared to tell her I don't wanna be her friend any more.

The same thing happened to me except my besties completely iced me out.Then they called me an explicit name behind my back. I'm still a little scarred. Now I have them both in the same class

That's the way friends can be sometimes! I don't think she is purposely neglecting you but she is trying new things with some new friends. Not replacement friends, but new friends. About the tights, skirts, and sweaters... That's why I wear too! C'mon, it's cold outside girl!
