So yesterday was my school's big homecoming football game versus an all-guys school. This guy that I kind of like goes there, so we were texting each other about whose school would win. My friends that were sitting with me said that my face would just light up every time my phone buzzed. The thing is, he goes to a different school than me and I have absolutely NO free time EVER. Maybe an hour or two on the weekends after water polo. He is also a sophmore and I am a freshman. We went to middle school together and are camp counselors together every summer for a week. But that week is really the only time I get to see him. But my real question is: how do I get him to ask me to homecoming? His school doesn't have one, but mine does. We don't talk all that often and there is NO WAY I could ever gain the courage to ask him myself! Any advice? Thanks!

If it's at your school, it sounds like you should ask him since he would be your guest! It's intimidating, but if you already know each other and are friends, it shouldn't be too awkward! If you already get along, he would probably want to go, at least as friends. If that doesn't work out, even if you don't go to the same school you can still talk to each other and get to know each other as friends while you're at different schools.

I'm having major boy probs. In 6th grade, he was a new student. He was unpopular at first, but I had a huge crush on him, and some of my friends teased me that he was my boyfriend. We emailed everyday after school and he gave me a bracelet. My best friend (at the time) also liked him, and was friends with him. My bff and I went on a trip, and when we got back, she ditched me. In 7th grade, he was more popular, and we just lost our connection. However, I still had a huge crush on him, and was heartbroken when he asked someone popular out. She dumped him a day later. This year, we are in 8th grade and I STILL like him. My friends told me to just let go, but it's hard. Everyone tells me that I'm really pretty, and even though I have a low self-esteem, I believe it. I am more popular this year, but at the dances he just ignores me, though my friends and I saw him looking at me after a slow dance. I would think that he liked me, but today he asked another girl out! HELP!

If he's going out with another girl, you can't do anything while they're together. But if you do want to regain your friendship, there's nothing wrong with that! Tell him you miss talking and want to be friends again. If it doesn't work out with the other girl, you could ask him to dance at the next dance and see what happens!

I like this guy and have for a year. At the time I met him, he had a girlfriend but over the summer they broke up. We don't have a lot of hobbies in common but we share a lot of similar views. I know that's weird but true. Plus, I really just wanna get to know him. How can I get to know him without all the awkwardness crushing get in the way?

Hey Acutiebookwrm, talk to him like you would a girlfriend. Ask him about his interests, bring up the latest music and movies, and let him know you're there whenever he needs advice. Hope this helps! Xoxo
