We
were heartbroken when
Wizards of Waverly Place ended this
past January. The hilarious sibling antics, the magic, the friends and
family….all in all, it was a great show. And just as we were getting used to
not seeing new episodes of
Selena Gomez
awesomeness on our TV,
Wizards of Waverly
Place is back for more!
Not
only will Selena be starring in the big event, but she is also executive
producing! Sel chatted with Radio Disney host Ernie D. yesterday, explaining
her reasoning for the move. “I'm not ready for it to be over, so I just kind of
want to do one more thing,” she said. And as for the decision to try her hand
at the action behind the lens, she said, “It was my idea to kind of start this,
because I wanted to do it really badly. I want to make sure I promise the cast
and the fans a really, really good hour-long event that will leave them feeling
good.” We’re glad you brought it back, Sel!
So
what exactly will take place in this new special? The story’s set to revolve
around the Russo family visiting Tuscany, Italy to reunite with their long-lost
family. While there, Alex (Selena Gomez) accidentally conjures a spell that
causes, well, double Alex trouble! Good Alex and Evil Alex must battle to see
who will come out on top. At the same time, she must prevent a charming wizard
from taking over the world, while saving her family and everyone else!
Mark
your calendars! The wizardly reunion is planned to air in early 2013 on Disney
Channel.
