Whether
you get into Halloween or not,
Girl Vs. Monster is the perfect
spooky flick for a girls' night in. We can’t wait for it to premiere on
Disney Channel Friday, Oct. 12, at
8 p.m. ET/PT.
The
movie focuses on Skylar, a teen girl getting ready for the big Halloween bash.
But when she sneaks out after her parents say she can’t go to the party, an
evil monster is unleashed—and determined to chase after Skylar. The night of
fun turns into a battle as Skylar discovers her family’s ancient secret (that
they’re monster hunters!) and what she must do to protect the world from this
evil Hallow-meanie.
We
got a chance to sit down with the super-friendly, super-cute cast on the film’s
Vancouver set. Here’s what the adorable Brendan
Meyer, who plays Skylar’s scaredy-cat BGF Henry, had to say about some of
our spookiest Qs…
GL: What’s
your favorite thing about your character, Henry?
Brendan: My favorite thing about Henry, is that he
really wants to be there for his friends and family.
How are you guys similar or different?
We both like to have fun
with friends and are kind of goofy, but I’m not as much of a scaredy-cat as
him.
What would you say
is one of your biggest fears at the moment?
What I’m really scared of
is just people being in my house when I don’t know. I swear I can hear things like a creak
or a shuffle downstairs sometimes!
Have an embarrassing horror story you’ve experienced in front of a
girl?
I don’t have a specific
moment, but it’s when I make a joke and I’m the only one laughing. That’s
always awkward.
Have any girls played any crazy tricks on you lately?
Yes! I’m a huge fan of
George Clooney, and these girls from my movie Mr. Young gave me a hard time about it. [One day] I went into my
trailer and someone got me this gift. I expected it to be candy, but I pulled
out all these pictures of George Clooney! It was a pretty funny prank.
What’s been your favorite Halloween memory so far?
Instead of trick or treating one year, I decided to stay home
and scare people. I wore a mask, robe and had a bat and I’d jump out and scare
the older kids when they’d come up to the door. And it was pretty fun.
What’s one thing
girls do on Facebook that totally freaks you out?
Well, it’s the infamous picture in the mirror shot for me. I
mean, it’s every girl, like all the time, and it’s funny. It kind of looks
strange because you can see yourself in the mirror taking the picture, and it
doesn’t really work! I just want I know why you do it, I guess.
