Well, I follow GL’s advice on being upbeat, but it seems to annoy a lot of guys. Even my crush asked me to stop saying "hi" to him in the hallway, which was probably because he thought I was too optimistic. What do I do? I don't want to annoy anyone.

His Answer: “If I were him, I might’ve said that because I was running out of time between classes and it was making me late. I don’t want to be mean… [but] if he’s too busy to say ‘hi’ to you in the hallway, then he’s probably not the kind of guy you want to have a crush on.” - Paul, 15

Decoded: Sorry, girl, but if your sourpuss crush is raining on your optimistic parade, he’s not worth a friendly smile or wave. Saying “hi” in the hallway doesn’t take a lot of time or effort. So even if there is a logical explanation, he should have told you why he needed to get to class.

Your Move: Give him some space, and though it might be hard, try to move on. There are puh-lenty of cuties in your class, and someday you will find someone who’s just as upbeat as you. Stay true to yourself, talk it up with some new guys and you never know where it might lead.
