5 adorable holiday party invites to DIY

When planning a rockin’ holiday party, a hostess with the mostess can get her guests in the merry mood before they even walk through the door. It just takes a little creativity to spread the cheer with super festive handmade invites. Need a little party planning expertise? We’ve got just the batch of cute and crafty invite ideas for you to choose from.  Party on!

Tune in

You’ll need a couple CDs, paper, scissors and clear cases for this lovely invite. Burn each CD with your top-5 fave holiday party songs. Next, write all your party info on each piece of paper. Cut the paper down to size and slip them into the case’s front cover. Craving more pizazz? Decorate with glitter, stickers or holiday stamps.

Take a bite

You’ll need a filled-out paper or card invite, colorful cellophane, ribbon and lots of your fave cookies for this yummy invitation. Once you have your cookies baked, stack two or three, wrap in cellophane and tie with ribbon. Slip in your invite and get elfing! For a super sweet touch, spell out the deets of your party—you know, who, what, where and when—on the cookies using icing and fine frosting tip.

Warm and fuzzy

You’ll need to shop for a couple pairs of cute, inexpensive, fuzzy socks. Fold each pair at the cuff and slip a paper invite 3/4s way into each one like a stocking stuffer. This is great for sleepover parties where your buds can wear their warm, fuzzy invites while they party all night.

Classic candy

For this classic invite, you’ll need a paper or card invitation, a ribbon, a hole puncher and lots of candy canes. Punch a hole into the top corner of your filled-out invite. Next, thread a ribbon through the hole and attach a candy cane. A cute bow (and maybe a jingle bell) makes an adorable finishing touch.

Picture perfect

You’ll need paper, scissors and a whole bunch of picture frames for this crafty invite. First, measure your paper to fit into the frames and cut each piece down to size. Write all your party info on the paper with colorful markers and frame ‘em. If you’re frames need a decorative touch, jazz them up with beads markers, glitter, stickers and whatever else you can find. You’re party guests can use the frame to display pics they take at your party. Perfect!
