Take a break from the
oh-so-serious literature your teacher is making ya read, and dive into the new
book by
Kim Askew and Amy Helmes.
Tempestuous
is a modern twist on Shakespeare’s
The
Tempest, and it’s absolutely hilarious.
While working off her debt
to society in a Minneapolis mall, former prep school princess Miranda Prospero
now wears a different crown—one with a spinning frankfurter on top!
One day, Miranda is doing
the same old job at the mall’s hotdog kebab cart, until a huge blizzard hits
the city. Suddenly she, as well as the other mall workers and plenty die-hard
shoppers, are stranded in the building.
Stuck in the shopping center
with the townies and the preps, Miranda decides to get revenge on the clique of
mean girls who froze her out and kicked her off her throne of popularity. She
hatches an elaborate plan, one that may just include bad boy Caleb…who turns
out to actually have a heart of gold.
Among all the chaos of the
plan, there’s another small issue brewing. While Miranda is worrying over her
reputation, an armed robber might just be on the loose, with only a rent-a-cop
on his tail.
You seriously won’t want to
miss this hot new read, so be sure to grab a copy when it comes out Dec. 18. Then be sure to come back and
tell us your thoughts.

What would you do if you
were trapped in a mall by a snowstorm? Blog about it, babes.
