Hi I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. I need a good, easy, informal, and natural way to ask/persuade my mom into letting me wear makeup. I honestly do not understand why she doesn't let me because for dance recitals I usually do most of my makeup and if I was able to wear makeup to school I would just wear neutral basics(Coverup, lip gloss, neutral eyeshadow, mascara, and blush). I feel like everyone at my school at least wears mascara but currently I am only allowed to wear lip gloss. Also I think my mom might not want me to wear it because my sister is 15 years old and she is a complete tomboy and has never even worn lipgloss. I just need a way to ask my mom if I can start wearing just the basics without pushing it. ThanksSmile

 

hey girl! when asking your mom, be sure to remain respectful and patient. sometimes our moms just don't want to see us grow up! remind her that you're going to high school next year, and you feel mature and ready to wear makeup. assure her that you only want to wear natural looking makeup, and even ask to work up in increments. you could start with mascara, the next month add cover up, the next month blush, etc. good luck! xoxo
