4 hot holiday hairstyles inspired by our girl Lauren Conrad

We love Lauren Conrad’s gorgeous locks and all her fab ’dos. Check out four of our fave holiday hair looks, inspired by LC herself. You may not have your own profesh stylist, but it’s amazing what you can do with a curling iron and a spritz of hairspray. Just follow our simple how-to steps and you’ll be looking holiday-ready in no time.

Christmas Eve dinner with the fam: Retro waves

Step 1. Give yourself a side part, then divide your hair into 2 layers and pin the top layer up to keep it out of the way.

Step 2. After applying some protector serum on the bottom layer, hold a 1-inch curling iron vertically and curl all the way around your head, always going in the same direction (yep, One Direction! This would be the perfect time to have 1D on your getting-ready playlist.). It’s okay to curl big sections of hair, after all, this is just the bottom layer.

Step 3. Unpin your top layer of hair, apply serum, and continue curling in one direction all around your head. Spritz on some hairspray to keep the curl.

Step 4. Take a flat brush and brush out your hair going from the root all the way to the end.

Step 5. Pin back the hair behind the ear of the smaller side of the part. Add a little more hairspray and you’re ready to stun the fam with some Hollywood glam.

For this look, try: TIGI Bed Head Some Like it Hot Serum, $16, drugstore.com

Holiday brunch: Hippie braids

Step 1. Give yourself a straight center part with the end tooth of a comb or with a hair pick.

Step 2. Make two small braids, beginning at the center part and attach them together at the back of your head with a natural-colored hair tie.

Step 3. Apply a small amount of hair gel to the braids to keep them secure and reduce any braid-hair-frizz. Time to peace out, it’s brunch time!

For this look, try: L’Oreal Studio Line Head Lock Mega Gel, $5, cvs.com

Christmas Day dinner: Top knot

Step 1. Pull your hair up into a high pony with a good, strong elastic.

Step 2. Spritz hairspray on the pulled-back hair and smooth your hands from your hairline to the elastic for a clean look free of any flyaways.

Step 3. Place a “hair donut” over your ponytail so it looks like a giant scrunchie and then wrap your locks around the donut so you can’t see it.

Step 4. Pin your hair into place to complete the bun. Try special bun pins for the most secure hold, especially for longer, thicker hair. What’s knot to love?

For this look, try: Soft ‘N Style Hair Donut Black, $5, amazon.com

New Year’s Eve night out: Faux bob

Step 1. Use a 1-inch curling iron to curl all of your hair into 1-inch sections. Begin at the back of your head and work your way to the hair around your face. The more curls, the better!

Step 2. Loosen up the curls a little with your fingers. Your hands are super helpful here, as they function as gentle wide-toothed combs.

Step 3. Fasten the very end of your hair together with an elastic.

Step 4. Holding the elastic, roll your hair upwards toward your neck. Secure it with as many bobby pins as necessary.

Step 5. While you’re rolling your hair, make sure to keep it loose enough so that you create the bob look. Let some of the curls hang loose (not all of it should be tucked back).

Step 6. After all that work, make sure your new look stays in place with some hairspray. Happy holiday (faux) haircut!

For this look, try: Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Flexible Style Hairspray, $4, walgreens.com

My bun actually looks like I have a sock/donut thing in it because I have thick hair. Laughing Top knot buns are honestly the best thing in the world ESPECIALLY if you have really long hair! It feels so nice to have your hair so high up and off your neck! Its REALLY comfortable too!

my gosh top knots are so ugly it's like "if you don't do ballet, don't wear a bun." especially a big one like that. ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD. ugh
