On Friday night,
GL editors Jess and Kelsey attended the
PromGirl fashion show in NYC. (Check out our tweets and photos from the show,
here.) Besides plenty of pink, sparkly dresses and
crazy amounts of candy, here are six important things they learned are key to
an awesome Prom after-party:
1. Fun (preferably pink) photo backdrop
There’s no easier way to remember
the magic of prom night than with a pre-set photo booth backdrop, complete with
props. On your must list? A cute tiara, feather boas and oversized sunnies.
Post the pics on FB the day after for all to see (and tag)!
2. DIY candy bar
We loved how PromGirl partnered
with Handsome Dan’s Candy to pass out mini mason jars that guests could fill up
to their hearts’ content with sugary sweets. (Psst: Candy is key for keeping up
your guests’ energy!)
3. Real life runway show
We got to glimpse the latest Prom
fashions on Friday, and were head-over-heels for the new spring trends. From
neon to hi-low hemlines to floor-length sequins, there’s definitely something
for every girl. Show off your crew’s fab fashion sense by asking each guest to
strut her stuff down a mini runway when you take pictures before the dance. So
maj!
4. Haute hair station
After a long night full of
dancing, your glam updo is prolly not lookin’ so hot. Set up a table with extra
bobbies, heat tools, hair spray and dry shampoo and ask friends to lend each
other a helping hand. Updos saved!
5. Sweet swag bags
Gift your girls a cute tote
emblazoned with your Prom’s tagline and stuffed full of goodies, like soft hair
ties, mini perfume and pretty beaded bracelets, like the ones PromGirl gave out
from Alex + Ani. Love!
6. Puppies. ‘Nuf said
Fact: Puppies make any party
better. We squealed when
@TommyPom made an appearance on the PromGirl runway,
and even got a chance to cuddle with him post-show. Adorbs!
