Happy New Year, #GLgirls. With the fresh start comes a very long list of flicks we’re eagerly anticipating…and psyched are almost coming to a theater near us! From some fab sequels to a few newbies, we’ve narrowed down our picks to eight films we’re pumped to see this year. Which are you going to check out?
1. Struck By Lightning – January 11
One of our fave Glee members, actor Chris Colfer, wrote a book titled Struck By Lightning, and the book has since been turned into a flick. We’ve already caught this film on VOD, about a boy who, after being killed by lightning, relives part of his life, but we can’t wait to watch it play out on the big screen!
2. Monsters University – June 21
Mike and Sulley are the pals of all pals in Monsters Inc. when cute little Boo warms their hearts. But flashback to their days at Monsters University and you’ll find that the two weren’t always the closest.
3. Kick-Ass 2 – June 28
You can see Chloe Grace Moretz return in this sequel. In this one, Kick-Ass befriends normal people like us, all while Red Mist is planning her revenge.
4. Despicable Me 2 – July 3
Who isn’t ready to see those cute little minions at work again? The sequel brings back all our favorite characters, plus a few new ones!
5. One Direction 3D Concert Movie – August 30
Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis all in 3D? Yes, please! Get ready to swoon over our fave boy band this summer with their 3D concert.
6. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 – September 27
The heartwarming and determined Flint Lockwood is back in this sequel. Instead of ginormous food causing chaos, though, the machine will wreak havoc with food-animal hybrids.
7. Ender’s Game – November 1
Two of our favorite chicas, Hailee Steinfeld and Abigail Breslin, star in this film based on the book. It’s all about preparing gifted kids for a suspected alien war. You bet it sounds intense!
8. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire – November 22
Catch up with Katniss and Peeta in the second installation of the series, where Katniss prepares for the Quarter Quell. Can’t wait!
