When Poppy Drops first
landed on my desk—labeled as “tiny, tattoo earrings”—I thought of the stick-on
earrings I wore as a little girl. They were fun…until they fell off. Which was
always immediately.
But Poppy Drops are pretty
brilliant. As someone who didn’t get her ears pierced until 18, I had tried
every other alternative—clip-ons, magnetic studs, ear cuffs and more. But I
could never get the chic look of a jeweled stud that I wanted.
Well, fellow piercing-free
teens: rejoice! Poppy Drops might even be cuter than the real deal. For around
$7 a pop, each themed collection includes a sweet assortment of styles. My faves
are the Glitter Collection—with glitzy gemstones—and the I Can Fly
collection—with owls, ladybugs and birds.
Application is easy—rub
them on with a bit of water just like your typical temporary tattoo. And as
long as you don't scrub them, they’ll last through a few showers.
A few more reasons why I’m
obsessed: Poppy Drops are made in the USA from veggie dyes, so they’re 100% certified
safe. And they’re not just the obvious choice for girls without pierced
ears—they’re also the perf solution for girls who play sports (but still want
to accessorize, natch).
Oh, and Poppy Drops also
makes “grown-up, lady-like tattoos without the commitment.” Translation: Super
cute temporary tats in star and heart patterns, plus scripty words like
“believe,” “imagine” and “love.” I’ll never get a real tattoo, but it’ll be fun
pretending.
