Are you texting in your sleep?

Sleep walking. Sleep talking. Sleep kicking-your-bestie-in-the-butt-when-she’s-sharing-your-bed-during-a-sleepover. Pretty normal, right? But now that teens are sending upwards of 60 text messages a day, sleep texting is apparently being added to the list, reports The Huffington Post.


See if this sounds familiar: You set your alarm for the next morning, flick off the lights and lovingly set your cell on the nightstand within easy reach—just in case there’s a 2 a.m. emergency, natch. When your cell beeps while you’re snoozing, your brain, which is programmed to snatch it up and respond, thanks to your 60-a-day habit, keeps the cycle going. Technically, you wake up and reply to that text. Except when your alarm goes off the next morning, you have no idea you did so. Maybe you sent something coherent. Maybe it was jibberish. Anything goes.


5 silly signs ya might be texting in your sleep:


#1 Mom yells at your for going over your monthly texts—but you’ve been sittin’ on those digits, you swear!


#2 Your bestie gets mad at ya ‘cause apparently, you told her you’d love to go with her to see a documentary about deforestation on Saturday, and then never showed.


#3 You walk into school Monday morning and everyone’s giving you the stink eye. When you overhear that ya reportedly trash talked your high school’s star point guard, you’ll be denying the gossip for weeks.


#4 You wake up with a major case of déjà vu. Did your crush really send ya a flirty face last night?


#5 Suddenly you’re in a huge cat fight with your caf crew…and you have no idea how that happened. Seriously.
