This guy asked me out, and I turned
him down. In person, he says he’s OK with it. But he e-mails me about why I
won’t go out with him. How can I tell him to get over it?
Apparently, his ego is damaged, so he’s having trouble dealing with the fact
that you don’t want to go out with him. You could go the sneaky, avoid-him
route and change your e-mail address. But unless he’s harassing you, that’s not
cool. Your best bet is to set him straight. E-mail him, explaining that you
want to keep things on a friendship-only basis. Hopefully, he’ll get the
message loud and clear, and you can stay pals.
Dave: Bill’s right. But once
you’ve clearly stated you’re not interested in going out, if he continues to
bug you, that is not only annoying—it’s disrespectful. Yes, his ego has taken a
bruising but, if the harassment continues, don’t respond to his e-mails, and
get a parent to help you block him from contacting you.
this post? You’ll heart these too…
