Throw your own outrageous Oscars party

Can’t wait to see your favorite movie stars at the Academy Awards on Sunday night? Watching the Oscars is the perfect occasion to throw an all-out fab fête. Invite over all your friends and gossip about the best-dressed celebs and your must-see flicks over amazing appetizers. On Monday morning, we’re betting everyone will nominate your get-together as the best party of 2013!
 

Vote on your top nominees

Pre-party, be sure to go online and print out a list of all of the nominees for the major categories (Best Picture, Best Actor/Actress, Best Director, Best Costume Design, etc.) before your guests arrive. That way, you and your friends will be able to predict all of the winners. Nothing like a little friendly competition!

 

Break out the finery

Ask your friends to attend your event dressed to the nines. Bust out your dress-up box to add to the fun. We’re talking feather boas, sunglasses at night, floor-length dresses, the whole deal. Snap pics to share on FB and vote on Best Dressed.

 

Get cookin’

No sit-down dinner required. Prepare a few tried-‘n’-true appetizers for guests to snack on while watching the awards. Have everyone bring a little something for a table full of mouth-watering snacks. Check out some recipes HERE. No time to cook? Pop up a huge bowl of popcorn and set out an array of toppings (think: yummy herbs, melted butter and grated cheese) to share.

 

We have a winner!

A few days before your big bash, head out to your local dollar store and pick up a trophy. The person who correctly guesses the most winning nominees is the big winner. We bet they will gladly accept their award--no speech necessary!

MOD MOD MOD!
Here in my hometown it is very snowy and cold. I try and watch vids and read mags on what to wear but they all include shorts or tanks and I would FREEZE if I wore any of that. I also want to incorporate some of springs trends but I don't know how.....
And Ideas on outfits? Thanks!!!
PS. How do you become a mod?

 

 

Hey Babe, layer up to keep you nice and toasty. And you don''t have to wear just shorts to feel springy, instead add color and floral patterns to your wardrobe. Don't be afraid to try some new things like floral jeans, or leggings under a skirt.

My younger sister's mom's birthday is this week. We are celebrating at her house the night of the oscars! It's going to be really fun! I can't wait! Btw thanx 4 the tips! I'm going to print a list of the nominees and guess who will win!
