Help! I like a jerk--should I give him a chance?


 
Everyone tells me this guy likes me and that we should date, but he always acts mean to me around his friends. He is friends with the typical "wrong group," but I know that he's good inside. How do I help him get over his ego or stop caring so much?
 
Hey girl! Ugh, the "bad boy" act can be so annoying. To figure out if his not-so-cool attitude is here to stay, find a time when just the two of you can have a chat. Avoid lunchtime or in between classes when your friends are everywhere. Make sure the only person he's thinking about or trying to impress is you. Then, tell him how you're feeling. Say that you think he likes you, and that makes you happy, but you're not sure if he really does because he's always acting mean to you around other people. What gives? Listen to what he has to say. If he apologizes and says he'll treat you with the respect you deserve, whether or not his crowd of friends is around, awesome! There's hope for you and this boy.

However, if he comes back with a mean retort and is unable to leave the attitude at the door, even when talking with only you, then it's probs time to say goodbye. There are def lots of other boys out there who are totes crushable, without the rudeness factor. It's not worth worrying about someone who is mean to you, no matter how cute he is. Okay so this boy i like he is really funny and sarcastic like me and nice. But we always like "Fight" with eathother like if i answer something and its wrong he would be like "Good job smart stuff!" And i would say the typical Shut up and we kinda just "fight" but it makes me laugh like that but theres times we laugh and have a good time together. All my friends say he likes me because he always tries to make me laugh and other things also and he is "Mean." to me. Is there chance he likes me? but the thing is that theres days we go not talking to eachother. IS there a tiny chance he likes me and how can i know?

 

Hey girlie, there's absolutely a chance that he likes you. Him being mean to you might be his way of flirting. Try talking to him more and getting to know him better. Flirt with him and see how he responds to it.

i really like this guy but hes a troublemaker and i know hes really sweet on the inside. he has a girlfriend but he says he doesnt know if they r gonna last much longer. he says he likes me and we flirt all the time but id ont know if i should be with him or not...? Frown help??

Oh sweet heart if he's mean to you then you shouldn't spend your time liking him.That said you can't force yourself to stop liking him. You should try to get the good to come out in him.Don't know if I helped.Smile

I really liked this guy at school and i told my best friend. She asked me to rate how much I liked him and it was an 8 of 10. At that point she said she was crushing on another guy. However, once i got his phone number she said she like him and then got him to ask her to prom. How do I not look sad, mad, or jealous when I see the two of them together?

 

Hey! The only way to get rid of these feelings in a healthy way is to talk with your friend about them. Yes, that's hard, but the alternative is pretending you're not upset when you are, and that could really poison your friendship with this girl in the long run. Honesty is always the best for everyone

There is a guy that used to go on my bus, he stopped last week. He is in Grade 6 p, I'm in Grade 7. I really like him, but he's sort of got a reputation for being a jerk with a super ego. Like the girl in this post, he does have a very nice side. But he can switch between the egotistical jerk and the sweet guy like a light switch. And he prob doesn't like me, but when he was on the bus he'd always stare at me, I'd pretend I couldn't see it, but it was pretty obvious. The other day I was leaving the locker room and he was entering so of course we almost bumped into each other, but stopped about 4cmbaway from each Esther's faces, then we split ways...! Please help, I'm head over heels and I don't know why!




Hey girlie! I know the feeling. But if he really is the sort of guy who can turn into a jerk at a moment's notice, I would steer clear. You never really know what's going to happen down the road, and it's best to head-off potentially disastrous situations while you can. xxx

Hey girlie, approach her when she's in a good mood so she won't take her other frustrations out on you. Explain to her what happened and how sorry you are, and even though she might be upset I'm sure she'll forgive you.

So this is super twisted. I recently transered shools in January, I met a boy (Lets name him Jacob,) well Jacob here is Mr.Popularity, Sargent Hottie and Captain athelete. So of course every girl is digging him. No jokeI have a huge crush on him. But i flipped out on him a few weeks ago, and we havent talked since. We don't have any classes together, the only reason we met was because one of my friends introduced me to him. I don't know how to turn things around. He doesn't seem the intrested anymore. How do I turn the entire siuation around and gain his attention again? Or should I even try?

so my prom is this year (a little more than 2 months away) and i still don't have a date. while i'm going regaurdless if i don't get a date, i still want one. all my close guy friends are already taken, and im not close to many guys, because i'm a bit shy. people tell me that i can be a bit intimadating when i do come out of my shell though. so i was wondering 1) is it fine if i go alone (i'm going with a huge group regaurdless, we all plan to meet up b4 prom) 2) how could i possibly get a date? flirt more/open up to more guys? and 3) is it okay if I ask a guy? or will that freak him out/make him feel less masculine? (sometimes i think it's time for us girls to take a stand!) Your help would be much appricated! (btw, i got an absolute gorgous dress!)

Hey girl, it's totally fine to go alone, especially if you're going with a huge group.  The best way to get a date is to just stay cool and confident and ask someone, you can do it!  If the boy you're asking is comfortable and confident with himself, it shouldn't insult his masculinity at all.  You go girl!

Okay, this is kind of complicated: I like this guy 'D' who had a huuuge crush on me last year (like, roses on V-Day and bringing me homemade chocolate chip cookies, that big) and he still did this year. We were sorta-kinda dating, but then drifted apart after I realized I didn't really like him, and he started dating someone else (he still had a crush on me when he was dating that girl). Then I became jealous and realized I still DID like him. Well, 'D' was dumped by his old girlfriend and appears to be crushing on me harder than ever. I really want to at least become friends again, if not more. We've talked a couple times, but now I'm super shy around him. How can I get our relationship to the way it was (hopefully)?

 

Hey girlie, keep talking to him and spending time with him. You may be shy and nervous at first, but the more you do it and the closer you get to him, the more comfortable you'll be. And spending that time together will help get your relationship back to what it was, or at least give you the chance to have that conversation with him.

MONDAY is mad monday.
TUESDAY is pajam day
WEDNESDAY is twin day
THURSDAY is our school colors brown and white

Hey girlie, I don't know what Mad Monday means so I'm not sure I can help you there. But on Tuesday you can wear some cute PJ pants and a t-shirt, Wednesday you and your friend can dress however you want together and Thursday wear a school t-shirt or something else in those colors with a ribbon in your hair.

So I've liked this same guy for a year, we have each others numbers, he's always so sweet when we talk in the hall but we haven't ever hung out. I've probably thought about him everyday for a year now, pathetic right? And I want to tell him that I like him but I don't want him to freak and never talk to me again. We don't have classes together so the only time we can talk is by my friends locker. Help me find ways to befriend him more please!

 

Hey girlie, you're not pathetic! Ask him to hang out outside of school. Since you've never done it before, it'll be a good way to tell if he's interested in you and you'll get to see another side of him. Then you can decide from there if you should tell him that you like him.
