Any girl who loves
fashion always adores seeing how a piece of the industry plays out on TV, which
is why modeling shows are so popular! The latest to hit the small screen?
The Face.
This sleek and chic
new reality show airs on Oxygen every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET/PT
and is hosted by acclaimed photographer Nigel Barker (yep, from America’s Next Top Model) and a team of killer supermodel
coaches: Naomi Campbell, Karolina Kurokova and Coco Rocha.
Each supermodel coach
(and judge) has a team of lovely ladies who compete in group and individual
challenges for the ultimate prize to become the face of ULTA Beauty. Packed
with drama, controversy and tons of fashion, we’re already hooked. Here’s why…
#1: The Supermodel Coaches
Are Fantastic
GL loves how this
show isn’t just a competition between the aspiring models—it’s also a
competition between the big supermodels who want a member of their team to win!
Naomi, Karolina and Coco are all seriously tough coaches who bring a ton to the
table and their competitive sides are crystal clear. Obvi, they all want to
win. It’s totally fab to watch them fight to the finish each episode.
#2: It’s Inspiring
All the models
competing for the prize have something about them that is super-relatable. None
have “made it” in the industry yet and, as a viewer, it’s kinda sweet to see
girls just like you fighting to make their dreams come true. Sure, some of the
sistahs in the house may come with full-on drama (hello, juicy reality show!),
but their passion to fulfill their goals is pretty inspirational.
#3: Viewers Learn A Ton
Whether or not ya
wanna pursue a fashion-forward career, it’s always very cool to know fun facts
about it. Nigel, Naomi, Karolina and Coco are always teaching models (and
viewers!) about the industry, which means when ya watch, you’re picking up tons
of cool facts (psst…did you know Coco Rocha could make up to 160 poses in 1
minute at a photoshoot?).
Bottom line, this
show is pretty amazing. We suggest you check it out for yourself tonight. Then
come back and share your thoughts.
