Easy DIY: How to make your own colored mascara

When the weather gets warmer, so should your makeup. See ya, black and brown mascara. Bright lashes are trending fast! We’re showing you how to make your own colored mascara in two easy steps:

First, swipe on a coat of clear mascara.

Try: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Clear, $5, target.com

Before the coat dries, take a clean mascara wand and brush it in eye shadow (any color—the brighter, the better!). Then, swipe it on your lashes. The clear coat helps keep the shadow on so the color lasts longer.

Try: Disposable Mascara Brushes, $4, lecosmetique.com

We Heart: e.l.f. 100 Piece Eye Shadow Palette, $12, urbanoutfitters.com

And you’re done! You’ve got instantly crazier and brighter lashes. Babes, let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Try parting your hair down the middle or off to the side to change the appearance of your face. If you have bangs, move ’em to the other side and see if your friends notice a difference!
