Help! Why do I act so awkward around my BF?

I always want to have a cute relationship. But when I have a BF, I get nervous and non-romantic and we break up in less than two weeks. How can I stop being so nervous and awkward around my crush/BF?

Every relationship is awkward in the beginning! Meeting and talking to a crush can be nerve-racking. But don’t sweat the small stuff—he probably won’t even notice your untweezed eyebrows or your mismatched socks. When a guy looks at you, he can’t see those butterflies in your stomach.

So what to do? Make sure to laugh off the times you trip over your shoelaces or stutter your words. He’ll think it’s cute and he’ll like how confident you are in your quirks. Suggesting your own date ideas will make you feel in control. Pick a fun activity you can do together (it’ll give you something to focus on other than making conversation). How about catching the school play or the latest flick? Or, hit up the batting cages or go for a quick round of putt-putt. Having something to do will help calm those nerves and put your butterflies to rest. Keep in mind, he’s probably nervous too!

If you’re still not comfortable with your BF, it’s probably time to move on. We always think that the best relationships come from being friends with a guy first. When you find the right guy, having fun together will be easy and carefree. Just take a deep breath and be yourself, babe!
