The Dirt: What guys really think of formals

Getting all glammed up and hitting the dance floor sounds like a blast for us girls. But guys, well, it’s hard to tell. They pull at their ties and complain about buying corsages, but when they get out there it seems they have some fun. We don’t want to force our BFs or BGFs to do something they’re not in to, and those mixed messages make it hard for us to get enthusiastic about getting them to go. So let’s peak into their minds and see what they really think:

“They’re fun in Texas. I don’t know about [everywhere else]. The dancing or after party is my favorite.” –William S., 16

“A lot of guys probably think formals are lame. I have no problem dressing up. Every guy would rather just be alone with the girl, and not go out at all, or at least a party.” –Drew G., 15

“Good excuse for new Facebook profile picture and can be fun. Good like reuniting everyone putting their best foot forward face.” –Yohnny R., 17

“Dances are fun, and a good way to hang out with kids from school. I’ll go to one if it doesn’t cost too much” –Calvin C., 14

“I usually dread dances before I go, but once I’m there, I have a lot of fun. Especially if I like the group I’m with.” –Jack E., 15
