Ease into your spring workout routine with a basic butterfly leg stretch

Whether you are still sore from you spring sport’s practice, working on your flexibility, or just taking care of your body, stretching is super important. You might think that stretching only prepares you for exercise, but it does so much more. It prevents injuries, relieves pain, improves posture, and promotes your circulation.

This basic gym class stretch is awesome to stretch out your hips and thighs. Here is a refresher on how to perfect this stretch:

While sitting on the ground, bring your feet together. Then pull them in toward your body and push your knees towards the ground. Then bring your head down to touch your toes and hold it for 20 seconds. It’s important not to bounce your knees so you don’t injure them.
